Hi guys, back with another rant Razz

So today I got suspended for TALKING TOO LOUD IN THE HALLS!!

As I headed to 6th period band class, I was doing my really good Obama impression to my friend Colby. My teacher told me to stop yelling. Not knowing I was yelling and knowing my problems with perception of sound, I made a point of trying to being quiet. After all I didnt want to disturb others. So I piped down a bit (at least I think) and continued with the hilarity. Then I went to band.

After band class, my math teacher said to go to the vice principals office, and to take all of my stuff. That was strange, because I didn't think I did anything wrong. So I headed there and here is the fucking dialogue.

*knocks on door
VP: Set your books down there, I'll let you in in a minute.
VP: Ok, you can come in now.
Me: Just one quick question: am I in trouble?
VP: Yes, you're in trouble. Sit down please.
VP: So Mrs. ---- was telling me you were screaming in the hallway. She said you were going crazy too. So instead of giving you internal the whole day tommorow, I'm just gonna send you down for the rest of the day.
Me: Yeah, I have a problem with how loud I am. I'm working hard to fix it.
VP: Ok, so you can just head down and stuff. You know where internal is, right down by band.

That was it. Literally.
I have two arguments to make.

1: I don't believe that is something you can legally suspend for.
2: I was not allowed to state a counter argument as to why I shouldn't be in trouble.

You're never allowed to state counter-arguements because you're a kid that shouldn't be trusted to tell the truth. Teachers are always right no matter what unless you are in a debate that they are overseeing and it's a "controversial" topic...like "Which is better, PC or Mac?" where there is no real right answer and they only pick the winning side based on their structure.

Hell, there was a time I was on a completely paid for trip with my dad's lodge and we were in NY for 3 days. Well one day we were allowed to go shopping but could only stay on the side of the street with the hotel and for a certain distance. Well, I went to the little shop next to the hotel for some food and drinks, the sticker on top of the thing of pringles said "something plaza." Well, it just so happens that there was a sandwich shop across from the hotel with the same name as that plaza...in the eyes of the guy in charge I was completely guilty and he only let me sit down with my food once he saw that the address was an odd number just like the hotel.

I also got in trouble on that trip for ASKING FOR PERMISSION TO REST MY ARM ON A GIRL'S LEG WHILE I TALKED TO HER BY BENDING AROUND IN THE SEAT I WAS IN ON THE BUS. I was not allowed to get off the hook for that at all, hell I wasn't even allowed to talk other than to say "yes, I did" while I was being interrogated.

My rant is over, so the answer to you're question about that being allowed is no and if it ever happens again ask to use the phone, if they say no then pull out your own cell phone, and call your mom to tell her the story and to bring some news cameras with her.

If you happen to have a couple of news channels programmed in your phone for just such an occasion then call them seperately and use juicy words like "story of a lifetime" "corruption" "abuse" "school" and then just go stand outside the school's front doors and wait.

Take a vow of silence and see how they like it when you don't speak at all. The only gesture should be the prominent erection of your middle finger(note that erection means more than the biological definition in males)

If you're in the USA, the school is in the USA, and if the school is in the USA, the ultimate authority is the law of the land. These school admins are nothing but worthless idiots who are hopped up on some power trip because their pathetic lives would never give them easy authority over people who lack legal rights.

Parents must get involved. And if necessary, lawyers. Take it another step? let the city government know(mayor and council), the board of ed know, the county government know, maybe even the state government and agencies. Ever watch Shawshank Redemption? How the guy got an updated library after incessantly pestering the politicians with frequent and polite mail?

Even if you don't get results from them, it's possible to bluff the administrator you mean business, and get them to calm it down.

Yes, you do have a right to present your side of the argument. I quote this form the WV Student Rights and Responsibilities Handbook

"When faced with suspension, either in school or out of school, you are entitled to an informal hearing if you are to be suspended from school for a period of ten (10) days or less. At this hearing, the principal must tell you why you are being suspended, and you must be given the opportunity to present your reasons why you should not be suspended. In other words, you have a right to present your side of the case. However, if your conduct is detrimental to the progress and the general conduct of the school, you may be suspended immediately and a hearing held as soon as practical after the suspension."

That. So now they're fucked. Haha. Boom.
