RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017
The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.
If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.
To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.
-SoulRiser

The Games: Geography of SS
Winters is (though not visibly) taken aback by the three people he'd deemed inferior, amazed that despite his insults, they'd stand up for him.
Winters: Tough talk for a disturbed mental patient with rope, "GM". It certainly says something about what a fool you are when the dead have more class than you do.
(PERSUADE) Let us out of these chairs and show us a real game.

RE: The Games: Geography of SS
Huh. You guys really have a lot of bite. (Puts on knuckle buster.) I guess I'll have to use more extreme methods to keep you at bay. (Punches Wactor, Winters, and Molly.)
Then again, I think this game is over. Mainly because I don't care about keeping you alive anymore. One hint for Wactor: I don't think you are aware of your secret right now.
(Puts on gas mask, and then drops a ball that releases a white vapor. You wake up tied up in a makeshift straightjacket hanging upside down.)
Wake up! Now, THIS is real fun. And the game hasn't even started! Escape, and meet me in the next room. The next game will begin there. You can help others, but escape quickly, before the blood rushes to your head and you go unconsious. I won't be letting any slackers loose. -The GameMaker

The Games: Geography of SS
Winters: I got it.
(CLEVERNESS) He tries moving his arms around, able to infer by the looseness that it possesses the most common weakness of any makeshift straightjacket...unfortunately, one that is extremely difficult to exploit due to his being upside down. In an attempt to save time and prevent the blood from going to his head, his first objective is to free himself from the ceiling - he then jerks himself back and forth like a pendulum in order to weaken the bond and commands everyone to do as he's doing.

RE: The Games: Geography of SS
[Miniscule success] After a few minutes of swinging, Winters feels a very slight give. He then determines that he would pass out before he could free himself from the ceiling. However, he determines that swinging may help him exploit the flaw in the straightjacket.

The Games: Geography of SS
(CLEVERNESS) Winters, well aware that he has mere minutes remaining before his synapses are fried and his muscles are weakened, ceases swinging and begins performing what would seem, to anyone else, a counterproductive task. He attempts to pull himself upwards with all of this strength rather than downwards, which would cause the makeshift material to do something a normal straitjacket wouldn't - wrap around his head and upper torso, inside-out, enabling him to slide out.

RE: The Games: Geography of SS
[Huge success] The straightjacket does exactly that, and Winters slides out with ease. A slight tug on the knots on his feet causes it to get loose, allowing him to slip out. On the floor, he finds a a mirror. He realizes he can break it and use the shards to cut the other people down, if he chooses to.

The Games: Geography of SS
Winters briefly contemplates going into the other room alone, but wordlessly decides against it. He gingerly stomps on the mirror and pulls a shard out of it, then cuts the others down with great precision. They help each other to their feet as he casually hands Molly back her head.
Winters: Come on, let's go.

The Games: Geography of SS
Winters: *stops the people behind him for a second* N-now, don't you get the wrong idea. I didn't save your asses because I cared about your well-being; I did it because you're of more use to me alive. I'd like to make one thing clear: I will succeed, I will escape, and I will do it with or without you. Don't get in my way.
Now, let's go see that trap-happy motherf****r.
(OOC: He's lying - he does care about the others, but I don't think even he can figure that out yet.)

RE: The Games: Geography of SS
Okay, put these clothes on, and then we need to go.
(After you put the uniforms on, he puts a black cloth on you head, and leads you to a van.)
Okay, we are headed to a building. You are to go into that building, and whoever gets out alive gets a hint. One tip: you aren't armed. The people you're dealing with are. So, engaging in combat isn't a good idea. Also, there is a tracker in your suit, so I'll always know where you are. Don't run away. -The GameMaker
(The van stops, and you're unmasked and sent out. You are in front of an office building, donned with a Control Party logo on the door. You look down, and see that you are wearing military uniforms painted red and black, the colors of the Freedom Party. You decide what to do next.)
GAME TWO: THE PRISONERS OF WAR.

The Games: Geography of SS
Winters: We'll split into teams.
Molly and I will stick to the shadows and use deception and subterfuge to avoid combat. Duskshine and Wactor, you two sneak in the opposite direction - if the opportunity to perform a stealthy unarmed takedown presents itself, take it, and their weapons for that matter.
Any questions?

Winters nimbly climbs the side of the building and helps Molly enter a second floor window, while the other two choose a side door to sneak through.
