RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017
The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.
If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.
To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

And she was allowed to joke about it when the girl brought up the double standard.....Imagine if a guy said that, how fucked up he would be perceived as. Joking about cutting a woman's breasts off.
Calra Franklin is possibly a whore. She does need to fuck off, though. I don't sue Facebook when someone insults me on Facebook.
You are free to do as you are told.

Dear Society,
Don't like gay marriage? Don't get one. Don't like abortions? Don't get one. Don't like drugs? Don't do them. Don't like sex? Don't have it. Don't like your rights taken away? Don't take away anyone else's.
Sincerely, be glad we're all different.
If anyone wants to be my penpal or something like that or just wants to talk hit me up.
I agree with the man. Although, it'd probably be better to avoid these types of jokes all togeather. Sure, it's alright with friends and shit, but making it the norm seems kind of silly.
Hey, I'll cut your tits of lol. Well fuck you, I'll cut your pecker off. Har har har...
Leave my dick out of this or I'll slap the shit out of you bitch.
(This isn't super-related to the original post, but anyway.)

Typically not overtly, and also not in huge ways like in the past. But imagine it as a race, and instead of saying a woman just can't run, she can run but people untie her shoelaces all the time. So obviously she can tie her shoelaces back up and keep going, and it's not a super big deal. But then when she predictably loses, everyone's just "Hey, we told you that you suck at running."
Mostly men can take it for granted that they'll be taken seriously if they're good at what they do, even if they're kind of assholes. If people see a woman as bitchy, it hardly matters what she does or how well she does it, it's just like, "Who let that bitch do anything?" And so you have to put as much effort into being likeable (which in certain cases is counter-productive to getting shit done) as into doing whatever you actually do.
But I mean, I'm unambitious as fuck and you get some slack for being shit at everything when no one expected you to be that good in the first place so it's ok for me, but in general it makes things harder.
"Do we treat straight public sex differently than we do gay public sex? Of course. Straight people are so proud of their public sex that they named a cocktail after it."
"It" is also sexist when women do it, except if it's something said and you know for sure they are joking and not really thinking. Same with men you know well and are joking, or those who are so obviously joking you can't miss the fact it's a joke.
Example: at the LSM, a girl told me I came here thanks to some man we both know that I see every three months or so at the GUL Encounters. We don't know each others enough so that I could know for sure if she was joking, she isn't aware I'm not really sociable, she looked like she just found the answer to my presence here, she didn't tell that man who dressed in a similar style as mine that he didn't look interested either, so I think it came from a reflexion based on a sexist/androcentrist axiom.
Well, there was a sort of explanation in microagressions' comments about the "It's only racist when whites do it" family member, but I'm not searching it in that not-found mess. (keywords "it's only" and "race" give me 404s)

Depends on the situation... in most workplaces (not all) women still have to work through... being a women... especially if they are a boss... though this is getting better as time goes by. The sexism against men continually gets ignored because, "oh men have nothing to complain about! They have it so much better and how dare they complain! That means they are sexist!" The family court system really fucks men over.

I've haven't been chivalrous since middle school and I get girls that trip over me all the time.
I didn't believe that nice guy bullshit until I saw it for myself.
I mean the generic women..
The smarter women aren't as masochistic as to go for the douche in wolves clothing bit.

5 girls in my grade I know about, fit the whole, go with a bad boy stereotype.
Then, on facebook a month later, "OH, he was such an ass."
"Ask them no more questions, never hear them lying"
People say the problem with me is I have psychotic tendencies and care not about other human beings I don't like and or know. So?

I'm pretty sure, it's girls like that, that I wouldn't want to go out with in the first place anyway.
I mean, I was generally content getting carpal tunnel until I listened to Jefferson Airplane, at which point I realized that I want somebody to love. But I digress... Whatever the hell digress means.

And yet they'll go for another one in the future and he'll move on to another piece of ass.
It isn't about being "bad" or "nice"... it is about being confident. Girls want a man who is strong (mentally/physically/emotionally etc.) and confident. The thing is "nice guys" act like pussies more often than not and the bad guys act more confident... they are more "aggressive" about trying to get a girl.
The nice guy thinks: "oh she said no once/ignored me... I better respect her choice!"
The problem is girls are raised in our society to reject boys... think about most of the dads you know... often they have the sexist view that their daughters shouldn't be having sex/a boyfriend... they better stay away from boys! And the girls pick up on this.
UnschoolShqiponjë: No offense but for some odd reason my butthurt senses are going off.
But yeah confidence is key without acting like a moron for some girls.
Nature and all that.
Just nice guys and bad boys are easier to categorize.

Really? I didn't mean to give off that vibe... I meant to give off a "jackass" kinda vibe... oh well lol
I AM however butt hurt about American dads making their daughters prudes. ;D

Not to much all the manginas faults.
Its more with western feminism making parents fear all men and dads forgetting that they were once boys and weren't sociopathic skirt chasers.

Aren't there girls that like "sensitive" guys too?
