To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

Snow Day Today!! When do I ask her to be my Valentine?
There's a girl I've been friends for a while, and I wanted to ask her to be my valentine on valentines day.
However it's been snowing since Wednesday & will continue until Saturday. I don't have a car and my parents refuse to drive me anywhere to get flowers and/or chocolate. She lives near me (about 1 1/2 miles) but I don't know if her parents will remember me. (Long story, we were friends in elementary school, then her young sister passed away, the family moved away, but just moved back last summer. We haven't actually hung out after school, since she has dance classes every day) Plus I don't even have a gift. I'll be able to get a gift on Sunday after work when the storm is over. My original plan was I was going to get some flowers from a friend at school today but ofc the ONE FUCKING DAY I wanted to go to school, school was cancelled.
Should I call her today and ask her to be my valentine and give her the gift on Monday at school? I'm worried she might come to my house tho or ask to hang out and I don't have a gift. I kinda wanted it to be a surprise and I prefer to do things in person. But I don't want to be too late: if she already gets a valentine today, or gets sad that she doesn't get one, etc. I hate doing things like this over phone

I'd say call her tonight, catch up. She would tell you if she got a valentine over the phone then. If she didn't, do what you wanted to do today on Monday.

I would think your mom would be into that young love stuff and just drive you to her house, but I guess not huh? You could call and ask if she has a skype or Google Hangout or something else and do over the computer. It's a middle between the phone and in person

Then again not many people consider a 5 mile radius "walking distance".
But thank god for internet and phone.
Id suggest having a gift on hand before asking. It'd make it better I guess. Course one may say the point of valentine day is to express your romantic interest, not indulge in the consumerist traditions set by sneaky marketing campaigns by corporations...

UPDATE (If anyone cares)
Tried calling her shortly after I posted it. No answer. Sent a text message. Never got a response. I found out that she was hanging out with a friend, but still.
My story with this girl is extremely long...but to make a long story short: She's a very shy/nervous person, especially after her sister passed away and she had to stay in the private Christian academy with the same 20 snotty pieces of shit for how many ever years. So to be honest I don't know if she ignores me sometimes because she is way too nervous to talk to me or she just doesn't want to talk to me (and doesn't want to say so). Tbh I think it's the first one (just because we have been friends for so long and she always smiles when I talk to her, and I rarely see her smile otherwise) but the second one is always a possibility.
Anyway, fast forward to Sunday. I finish my shift at work, so my dad and I head down to Walmart. And, just my luck, they are out flowers and chocolate. A fucking Mega-ass Walmart. Out of chocolate. Out of flowers. Dad won't drive anywhere else, so I go home. (Can't fucking wait to get a car btw) This morning at school, I found out the friend that was originally gonna give me one of his flowers (that he got for his girlfriend) was able to give them to her on Friday and didn't have them.
So everything managed to not work out. I'm just gonna ask her out after vacation (which is next week). I don't want to do it too close to Valentine's Day after I didn't give her a valentine, so that's why I'm waiting until after vacation.
So yep...thanks for the suggestions on Friday, sorry I wasn't able to do any of them haha

Yea that's kinda what I've been doing haha...trust me I'm not the kind of person that waits to ask someone out, whenever I want to I just go ahead and do it. It's just this girl is so confusing haha.
But tbh (imo) I've given her tons of space, but I'm kinda tired of playing around, so I wanna go ahead. I won't go straight into it out of the blue obviously, but kinda ease into it, maybe even over the course of more than one conversation.
I just want this "Does she like me or not?" question to go away, you know?

@Brainiac: It's the middle of the winter haha, there was even just a snowstorm recently. No flowers in gardens.
I pretty much tried everything I could do in my power. But idk, maybe it's good I'm not coming on too strong. I guess I'll find out in the long run.
