To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

World War One: The Thread

This thread marks the beginning of the first war arc of the revived Geography of SS. Due to the likelihood of this arc involving all of the nations in the game for a story longer than previous arcs, events of WWI shall be reported in this thread. Only the fallout these events have on individual nations should be posted on nation threads.

If you haven't been paying attention to SS Geo, I'm DoA - I represent two (soon to be three) major characters in Geography of SS.

My first character is a maniacal, power-hungry Emperor known as Ducas O. Fawsum. Apparently, he was given a near-fatal dose of a serum tested as a prototype by a terrorist organization called FASH, and this serum altered his brain to give him incredible intelligence, powerful perception, and enhanced endurance at the cost of his sanity. His descent into madness caused him to run the nation of Sea Land into the ground, as he oppressed his citizens...and invaded two other nations to expand his evil empire. After murdering the leader of the organization that destroyed his conscience, Emperor Fawsum took control of FASH and retained power over his military, and seeks to wage war on the entire civilized world.

My second character is Fawsum's ideological opponent and former underling, D. D. Onarevyl. Onarevyl is the Chief of Security for the League of Nations, a multinational organization that stands upon a landmass that had been conquered a short time ago by the enemy Emperor himself, who at that time appointed the Amerigoan Onarevyl to be his top spy. Onarevyl did not know why the Emperor sought intelligence of FASH, but he willingly gathered it and, in the process, saved the world by sharing his findings with the League. By doing so, the Emperor branded him a traitor; now D. D. Onarevyl is an honorary citizen of the Isle of Three and seeks to find the evil Emperor's location.

My third character will be the man the Sealandic throne truly belongs to, and whose past is more dangerous to the Emperor than even he realizes.

I will be playing these three roles in this war, but only I shall play the villain so that everyone else has the opportunity to be a hero and save the world without breaking immersion.

Before We Start:

I need all players to check in here so I can gauge their activity. If you could provide some OOC insight as to how your nation might act in the war, it would be appreciated. Now is also the time to ask questions.

The game will start with the Empire of Sea Land (Axis) invading all neutral nations, at which point the objective of the heroes will be threefold: reclaim the land the Axis took, avoid killing innocents, and prevent the Emperor from unleashing nearly-finished serum SB-132 on the world.

WAR! Part One:

The Imperial Axis, led by Sealandic Emperor Ducas O. Fawsum, has conquered Blimpataria and Orkania in one fell swoop, and is now invading the western front of the League of Nations island headquarters.

Blimpataria put up little resistance; Seto Kaiba fled for his life as his nation was pillaged by Axis stormtroopers, seeking asylum in the northeastern League by way of blimp.

Orkania put up a valiant fight, but also fell to the Axis. The first wave of Axis forces were completely wiped out in an unexpected guerrilla attack, but the second and third waves of stormtroopers eliminated the melee-savvy orcish forces at a long range. The capital lost its heavy defense as SB-132 was airdropped within its borders. This powerful chemical agent, capable of causing frenzied hysteria in any and all intelligent life, pitted orcs against orcs. By the time the carnage ended, the capital was easily taken by the Axis. No one knows what became of the warchief, but it is assumed that he too fled to League Headquarters.

The western shores of the League Island, home to many Amerigoan refugees, have now become the battlefield. Large waves of Axis troops armed with technology rivaling even Capitalistian's (but not the Isle of Three's) are pitted against a garrison of Allied forces that seek to defend the League.

What will the world's leaders do in the face of this offensive?

WAR! Part Two:

A lack of Allied action has resulted in the loss of the League Island and the beginning stages of the invasion of Fantasia!

Only the Citadel remains standing in the onslaught of the first Axis raid on the League of Nations. Its defense forces are barely holding off the swarms of enemy stormtroopers, and the leadership of the Isle of Three is debating whether to destroy the Citadel, which would prevent Axis forces from obtaining critical information but result in the loss of tens of thousands of lives.

Pressure is on Jerry Brown to save his nation as the beaches of Fantasia are stormed. The Sealandic Empire boasts new orcish forces, who are truly merciless as a result of their recent brainwashing and inherent bloodlust. Desperate measures will need to be taken to save Fantasia from desolation.

A beacon of hope glimmers in the face of Allied losses; a city on the coast of Sealand has been taken by an unknown group with unknown intentions. Sailors in the area tell tales that this militant force was trained on an island previously uncharted by even the most seasoned naval explorers. This island lies in the dead center of a sea plagued with superstition (OOC: think Bermuda Triangle) - sailors dared not cross the sea to get to a nation for fear of losing their craft; trade routes instead followed closely the tidal borders of each country. No contact has yet been made with the island's inhabitants, but legend has it that they have strong ties to the Isle of Three.

What will Allied forces do now that their headquarters is nearly lost?

WAR! Part Three:

Three days have passed. The first invasion of Fantasia is nearing its end. The League Citadel has fallen. A new country has formed within Sea Land's borders and has sided with the Allies.

The Axis raid on the League of Nations has taken its toll; internationally-owned streets, villages, and settlements were the victims of the desolation of the Fawsum Empire. The once-glorious Citadel, proposed by Emperor Fawsum himself, was destroyed with a bomb shelling to prevent his army from taking it.

Fantasia has survived the first invasion, but not without a cost; while the largest island survived the attack, reclaimed the northern beach, and under the leadership of General Pajero forced Axis forces into retreat. However, they have nearly finished claiming the second main island as their own and are attempting to strike the westernmost island from its eastern beachfront.

A mysterious group called the Acar have taken control of much of southeastern Sea Land and refer to their land as the United Acarian Cities, or UAC. They are aiding the allies in dismantling the Fawsum regime and have so far seen near-flawless victory in their march on the Axis heartland. More information to follow.

Alongside the possible occupation of all of Fantasia, a grave threat has emerged: an elite Axis military unit is threatening to invade the near-unprotected protectorate of Los Santos and release serum SB-132 on its innocent populace! What will the Allies do?

WAR! Part 4 - World at War:

Orkish terrorist attacks ravage the northern Axis territories (affected areas in orange). The UAC continues to spread but still avoids the Sealandic capital (Sea Land, in blue). The third Fantasian invasion has begun after the failure of the second, and battles have broken out in every remaining country (in purple)!

TVs in every civilized country are hacked to display a chilling announcement from the evil Emperor, regarding the beginning of his invasion of every Allied country and the defense of Axis territory.

The northern coasts of Fantasia, Capitalistian, and Sea Land have become war zones. An entire Isle has also become a battlefield.

Total war has broken out, and none of the Allies have an excuse to back down anymore. The question is, what will you do?

On The Ropes:

Light Blue: A mysterious substance known as dihydrogen monoxide, which comprises the world's oceans

Axis forces have retreated from Fantasia and the Isle of Three. Orkania has conquered nearly the entire North with the help of some sort of demonic spirit. Victory is not yet assured for the Allies; the Empire's most elite are guarding the capital from the Acar, the reserve forces are defending the Amerigoan islands and League, and a full-fledged assault on Capitalistian's north has begun with the Emperor himself, with all his augmented strength and agility, leading a military faction to the capital.

The Master, new leader of Capitalistian, is preparing a deadly chemical agent called SB-133 - the world may be at its knees if he succeeds in using it.

How will the Allies wrap up the war? What will become of Capitalistian? Will Fantasia and the Isle of Three go on the offensive?

The End of Hell on Earth:

The Axis is on the edge of defeat; they only have two territories left, one of which is an inhospitable capital. Meanwhile, a dark scourge creeps through the north and threatens conquered war territory, as well as the Isle of Three.

It is up to the Isle to determine whether to bomb the League island as well as choose whether to re-enable Anakata to repel the incoming demon attacks, and up to the Acar to decide whether retaking Sea Land's capital is a wise strategy.

Checking in. I am going to be using King Chanku, the king and ruler of The Isle of Three. My nation will most likely try to stay neutral as Chanku doesn't really like war, that and the tech that is in the Isle's possession is deemed by him as too destructive and believes the world isn't ready for it, and as such avoids war to avoid the temptation to use it.

Orkania chooses 3rd party status till further notice(Aka we prepare for war, defend against attacks...then retaliate accordingly, but do not pledge to any alliance in the initial phase. Basically, we're up for persuasion. Perhaps we'll even host a conference in our neutral land so both sides can try to persuade us to pledge our evidently stronger military force to one of sides)

A slight deviation from the real WW1.

It is implied that the total population of Sea Land is just under that of all three allies combined, and that its military is the most numerous...and organized...of any nation. They're also brandishing new technologies and weapons thought to have been designed by FASH. Armed with dangerous chemical weapons, too, your defense may as well be a Kleenex.

...The only thing stopping Sea Land from immediately invading any of the Allies is their shared, equally-powerful technology and potential resistance to chemical warfare.

The Orc body is a bit more resistant. Tougher skin and redundant organs(like a Klingon).

You might benefit from our support. Not our retaliation. We'll enslave much of your population, eat your elderly and infirm. Kill most of your males(except for the teens and possibly up to 20). Then we'll burn all your cities, salt your fields, and dump radioactive waste in your national parks. We'll also eat your fish.

Immediate retaliation is impossible; your army has disappeared (presumably under mind control) and your non-military orc civilians are struggling to organize enough to take back the homeland. Besides, it would be meaningless to try to do all those things to Sea Land; the citizens are already super oppressed.

Its defense forces are barely holding off the swarms of enemy stormtroopers, and the leadership of the Isle of Three is debating whether to destroy the Citadel, which would prevent Axis forces from obtaining critical information but result in the loss of tens of thousands of lives.

Pressure is on Jerry Brown to save his nation as the beaches of Fantasia are stormed. The Sealandic Empire boasts new orcish forces, who are truly merciless as a result of their recent brainwashing and inherent bloodlust. Desperate measures will need to be taken to save Fantasia from desolation.

A beacon of hope glimmers in the face of Allied losses; a city on the coast of Sealand has been taken by an unknown group with unknown intentions. Sailors in the area tell tales that this militant force was trained on an island previously uncharted by even the most seasoned naval explorers. This island lies in the dead center of a sea plagued with superstition (OOC: think Bermuda Triangle) - sailors dared not cross the sea to get to a nation for fear of losing their craft; trade routes instead followed closely the tidal borders of each country. No contact has yet been made with the island's inhabitants, but legend has it that they have strong ties to the Isle of Three.

What will Allied forces do now that their headquarters is nearly lost?

(As I've said) 1,000 of Fantasia's navy have been lost at the cost of only 200 orcish attackers' lives.

Suddenly the warplanes arrive and wipe out nearly the entire first wave of Axis soldiers without suffering so much as a scratch before targeting the ships. This victory is short-lived as the Sealandic navy readies their anti-aircraft guns, missiles, and various forms of surprisingly competent technology.

The impressive display of the warplanes closing in on the Imperial fleet may have made some men quake in their boots, but the grandeur was quickly dissipated when a sudden barrage of anti-air weaponry tears the huge warplanes from the sky.

Enormous armor-piercing bullets and powerful missiles rip through the planes like tinfoil. 20% of them are removed from the sky while just shy of a tenth of the Axis navy is lost.

(OOC: Sea Land has technology they shouldn't have. Why they have? Not telling yet.)

The second and third waves of the Imperial army storm the northern coasts of the two main islands. Improvised Fantasian defenses hold most invaders back to the point of near-stalemate, but a few pockets of soldiers manage to push on.

One of these squads, against all odds, has made it to Castle Hansgrohe, a huge military fortification complete with a powerful gatling gun. They are storming the castle at the very moment in the hopes of putting a stop to the infantry superweapon.

General Zhumabay Zakila Pajero decides to take out soldiers himself. He is a very strong man, almost legendary in size. He uses his super cookies N cream gun to take out any remaining Axis soldiers in the castle. He manages to get 1,000 kills. He then dances to "HEYYEYAAEYAAAEYAEYAA" alongside with HUEHUEHUE for 10 straight hours, becoming a legend.

A wounded Sealandic soldier, unnoticed by Fantasian forces, puts the General's amazing yet hilarious exploits on YouTube before dying of his wounds. (OOC: Lol)

It is revealed that in the time it took for Fantasia to defend Castle Hansgrohe, the gatling gun has gone unused long enough for Axis forces to make their way up the shore. Their advance is staggeringly fast and effective; it occurs to the leadership of Fantasia that the only way to save the coast from indefinite invasion would be to call for backup from the other Allies.
