The forums are mostly read-only and are in a maintenance/testing phase, before being permanently archived. Please use this time to get the contact details of people you'd like to keep in touch with. Send me a message if you'd like to keep in touch with me & Steve.

Please do not make a mirror copy of the forums in their current state - things will still change, and some people have requested to be able to edit or delete some of their personal info.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

Did I read that right? Half a day's worth of calories? Maybe if the goal of food authorities is to make everyone fat.

In total, I wouldn't even come close to eating the "average diet" equivalent to that monstrosity a day. And it's recommended that I eat two of them??

Don't they average the daily caloric intake at 2000?

Obviously this isn't a one size fits all deal, but from what I understand, 1200 should be the minimum healthy amount and 2000 is tacked on as the "middle" amount.

I know I usually take in more than 2000, probably 2500 or so. I don't have a fast metabolism, but I have a pretty strong metabolism. I'll generally burn through all the calories I take in for the day, unless for some reason I take in more than my average. Probably why my weight never really changes(I'm sure if I stuck to my average, and maybe knocked it down some, I'd be on a gradual weight decline).

But nutrition is more than just calories(though calories are the most basic, since it's plain and simple the fuel for your body). Considering where calories come from(protein, fat and carbohydrates), it's important to maintain a healthy mix of fuels(carbs are quick fuel and first to go. Fat is next, and generally stored if carbs are taken since the carbs are priority. Protein is generally last, and is mostly for the muscles). Then you've got all those vitamins and minerals...

I try to keep a balanced diet. Breakfaat usually the healthiest. Tea, various fruits and vegetables,olives,egg and cheese. The egg is often an omlet with various peppers,spices and herbs as well as meat(sometimes we add ground beef. Not always). And whole grain wheat bread or whatever.

Lunch is often leftovers or soup(or both).

Dinner is another big meal.

I don't want it. Mostly because I hate hamburgers, pizza makes me sick, and just that much ground beef in one sitting. Ew, no thank you.
