You people are morons. It's school, not a life sentence to prison. Suck it up. You may not like it, but trust me, your gonna be glad you didn't drop out in the long run. Go to school, stop complaining so much, and enjoy the money and the job you will have (if you try) when your done.

Oh look, what have we got here. Let me argue your fundamental arguments.

School may not be a life sentence to prison, but you are essentially told to dedicate your entire childhood to that institution. You have absolutely no choice in the matter. Your rights are essentially suppressed and you have to obey to the teachers and school officials that run the freaking place. You're telling me to suck up my rights being taken away, to be treated less than whole. Well who are you to tell me that?

Oh, and look here, the typical "stay in school or you'll work in a McDonald's!". Enough with that BS. There are plenty of occupations in which nobody gives a shit about what you did in high school. Coding is a good one, for example. Plus, you don't even need to list your HS education at times anyway. Oh, and you can go to college with a GED.

Sorry, but please GTFO.

RE: Smh...

Your rights being taken away? What rights do you need right now? Freedom of speech? Your talking right now. And if you drop out, you will not have a high paying job/no job at all. Look at that Night kid. He dropped out, now he's yelling how to get a job. Sure, there's some that become successful, but those odds are low

RE: Smh...

Shaking my head....

In school, you have no right to freedom of speech. Well, de facto. You can't criticize the teachers or the school officials. Challenging a teacher will get you in hot water. Schools monitor our social networking. There are police and security guards at school and oftentimes they don't know how to handle situations with students. Zero tolerance policies, and I've said enough about that. Students have no Miranda rights as they are suspended once they are on campus. Teenagers are essentially subject to the school and their laws, regardless of whether they make sense.

And you really must be a fool. Night never dropped out. And Night's a she. She can't find a job regardless because of the lack of work in her area, yet she's in school.

Who said we're going to drop out? You're assuming because we hate school, we'll end up miserable. Well, excuse me for not liking the tedious memorization and all that other shit that happens in school. I don't plan on dropping out because society pretty much tells me that in order to get a good job, I need to complete school. And even then, how am I guaranteed a job? Passing school is not in any way a guarantee you will have a good life. Lord knows where the economy will in a few years.

I see plenty off people here on want to/have dropped out. It's sad. It really is. And everyone points out the Nagatives of school. What about the pros? Making friends, Playing sports (if that's what you like). There's plenty more

Making friends?

I'll be honest, I'm a really socially awkward person. I have trouble making friends. It doesn't mean I have no friends, but it means it's often difficult for me to make friends. Oh, and I was constantly picked on in middle school, and I often don't find it with a lot of people at school. The "making friends" doesn't hold up for me.

As for playing sports, yeah, I suppose, but obviously not everyone's good at sports, and it's really the only way you can become a professional.

There are some positives in school, but for me those positives don't at all make up for the negatives. The negatives are pretty much what school is built on.

Um, the fact that I have trouble making friends is a good reason why I think school sucks. Imagine this: your in a place where you have to be with people that you barely know and you can barely connect with anyway. You tell me as if making friends is something really easy to do. My social awkwardness, combined with the fact that I really don't like a lot of kids at my school, makes this more difficult. We have the swag kids and the "fake gangstas", the girls that are extremely vain about their appearance and won't even bother talking to the "weird" kids, got the really "smart" kids that only study over there, etc. You really think it's easy to be in that sort of environment and somehow make "friends"?

11th grade.

And once again, you're telling me as if this is a simple and easy thing to do. Once again, I told you that a lot of my peers are unbearable, and I really don't fit in with many of them. If I try to hang around with them, they'll probably leave or tell me to go away. Sometimes, they might let you be with them, but you can tell they're not comfortable with you. And no, I'm not going to conform to a specific image that those kids expect. And even if you try to talk to them, they'll straight up ignore you.

Been there, done that.

RE: Smh...

Hey! What is this? Stop talking about me behind my back. For the record, yes, I am a girl. Yes I did drop out. And yes, I'm yelling about finding a job. My first job mind you. A little fact here, if I had stayed in school, it would probably be even harder to get a job because of the lack of time I would have.
The reason I'm having a hard time has absolutely nothing to do with school. It has to do with the fact that it'll be my first job, and hence, no experience to impress potential employers with and geography mostly. I highly doubt that graduating from highschool would make my job search any easier. I mean, look at all these kids going to college, getting degrees. Coming out and having to work in places like Mcdonalds.

Now. Allow me to say this. Dropping out was the best thing I could have ever done.
No, no, seriously!
Here, I'll give you a bit to let that sink in before I go on.

Ready? Ok
You see. I'm 17 year old. I should be a Senior in highschol. However, if I had stayed in I'd be a sophomore. Going at the rate I was going I wouldn't be finishing highschool until I'm hmmm.. 20. That's going a the rate of 2 years in each grade level on average. Now, I'm not stupid. In fact, I like learning, Education. I think school could be a very fun place. Could. But it isn't. It's hell. Especially for kids like me. You know me. I'm the quiet girl sitting in the back of your classroom drawing. I'm the quiet girl silently doing her work. The one who never raises her hand even when she knows the answer. I'm that girl that every talks about because she's too fat and ugly.
I'm the girl that by the time she's in highschool has rumors of pregnancy and prostitution, but is still too fat and too ugly. The girl who would do heroin and meth and anything you put in front of her. The girl whose mom had to bribe her with $100 just to go to school for the rest of the year and still didn't go.

Now I've dropped out. I took the GED, and I'm confident my results will equate to a "graduation." Next year I'm likely to attend college. For what major I'm still not sure. I'm thinking something math and/or sciencey. At 18. I'll be in college. Compared to the likelihood of 21 and in college if I stayed in highschool.
Not only that. But I'm fucking happy. I'm the happiest I've been in years.
Do you have any idea how good it feels to say I haven't even had the thought to cut myself in weeks. Not a thought to kill myself.

In short. Chill out dude. School isn't all that. Especially highschool. Nobody really cares if you graduated highschool. Especially when you start getting into careers. All they care about is if you're qualified, got the right credentials and the right degree etc.
But I already talked about how hard it is to find a job even with college education.

Have you ever met an introvert? Or perhaps someone like me, who can't even think about talking to another person without having a panic attack?

Oh no, now you're throwing the "I grew up!" argument. This one's classic. Just because we don't like being indoctrinated means we need to "grow up". Just because we don't like having to get up early and forced to follow a rigorous schedule means we need to "grow up". Somehow, all of us need to "grow up". Yet plenty of people at my school I feel need to grow up, obsessing over their status and such.

Okay, I'm sorry, but, if someone's telling me being introvert is my fault and I'm somehow weird, you've got another thing coming.

Oh, and "I'm lazy". Yeah, sure, I'm lazy. It's totally not natural to want to break out of the damn tedious cycle and do something else. Somehow, we're lazy. Just because we'd rather spend our time doing something else.

Fuck off.

You're mistaken mate.

1-You've got my age wrong?
2-I'm being totally not serious in anything I say, apparent when I started posting gifs of laughter, and the so-called "Extermination protocol".

Still...

Perhaps the source of my problem lays in the first sentence line of your post:
Quote:You people are morons. It's school, not a life sentence to prison. Suck it up. You may not like it, but trust me

"You people are morons"Now that's not nice. Tsk tsk. How can we take a potty mouth like you seriously? Are you ten years old or something? Chest thumping and bad mouthing gets you nowhere in reality unless yer a drunken sailor!

"Suck it up" Why don't you just suck up the fact that a lot of what we complain about are actual dysfunctions of society and education? Too sweet for your tastes?

"...trust me" And why should we trust you? Why you, of all 7 billion human beings on this planet right now, and the countless billions from history? What makes you special? Even scientists are proven wrong, or outdone, by others. There is no possible answer for us to trust you except for the following two:
1-I am God
2-I am omnipotent(technically almost God).

Seeing that you can realistically be neither(why would God visit our forum? o_O), I see no possible reason for us to trust you.

Got it...kid?

You know, I didn't like school when I was younger. But then, unlike you, I grew up

You grew up?

You grew up very wrong then, because last I checked, real "grown-ups" were mature and civil, not starting sentence with "U PPL R MOREONS!" then going into an arrogant rant about why you should be trusted because you suck dicks conform like a bitch slave.

You still didn't answer my questions oh "All-Grown-Up". Stop changing the subject and answer the questions.

You're being fucking comical over here.

You know, a lot of people have trouble going to bed early, like I do. I'm often waking up early in the morning and very tired as well. A lot of us have trouble going to sleep early. Oh, and you've forgotten I need to dress up, take a shower, eat breakfast, brush my teeth (BTW, brush your teeth before you eat), etc, all within a certain amount of time, with little room for error. If I'm late, I'll be punished.
