To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

hey there
Hey guys,
im new to this forum, so im going to tell a little bit about myself.
so im 18 and live in vienna. i dont hate my school, just the way we have to learn. (its normal like in every other school).
I like to hack in my free time (mostly learning about it), so to have some fun in school i like to hack there a bit. but just small simple stuff (rat some students here, control teachers computers there etc)
last week i played a twerk video

In your opinion, how does the Austrian education system hold up to the American one? How well maintained are the schools? Bullying? Violence? Any bad teachers?

hey there
we have bullys, they are everywhere. (i got bullied from a racist fat kid, because im a russian)
in my school, where most of the teachers are really cool (i had some beers with one of them) but some of them are really unfair or they expect too much. Violence is one thing that i never saw at my school, but in my older (i think thats your middle school) there were so many fights, the teachers were old and hated kids and i really hated it there.
but i really like going to my current school, just the classes where we have to memorize stuff (programming is fun to me so i really learn it, but integrals is just stuff i wont need except i want to teach math)

Wait a second, you had a beer with your teacher?
I know that the legal drinking age in Austria is 16, but the fact that you were able to drink with your teacher is something else. If you did that in the United States you'd as certainly be arrested and the teacher would be fired and arrested as well.
