RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017
The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.
If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.
To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

Corpse Princess
Wikipedia Wrote:After being murdered, Makina Hoshimura turns into a "living shikabane hime (corpse)". Armed with dual MAC-11 submachine guns, she must kill 108 other shikabane in order to gain entry into heaven. She is assisted in this task by Keisei Tagami, a Buddhist monk with links to an anti-corpse group known as the Kougun Sect. Her ultimate goal is to avenge the death of her family, by destroying the shikabane known as the Seven Stars.

RE: What animes should I watch?
Anywho, my recommendations are as follows.
Fooly Cooly - Only 6 episodes, so it's short and sweet.
Naota is a normal Japanese 6th grade boy (although a little cynical), but when his older brother leaves for America to play baseball, his brother leaves his homeless 17 year old girlfriend Mamimi behind. Mamimi is sending mixed signals and advances to Naota, and he doesn't know what to do about her. But to make matters worse, Naota's world is totally turned upside down when he is run over by a woman on a Vespa. During their first encounter, she hits him over the head with her bass guitar, which then causes a horn to grow out of his forehead. She calls herself "Haruko" and her presence changes Naota's life to even further insanity.
Serial Experiments Lain
Lain Iwakura appears to be an ordinary girl, with almost no experience with computers. Yet the sudden suicide of a schoolmate, and a number of strange occurrences, conspire to pull Lain into the world of the Wired, where she gradually learns that nothing is what it seems to be... not even Lain herself.
If you're willing to check out anime movies, give anything released by Studio Ghibli a go.

What animes should I watch?
Mostly horror, supernatural and psychological elements here...
Some users have already mentioned two of my favorites, Another and Kuroshitsuji (or Black Butler, season 2 of BB is shit.)
Death Note is good...Noragami as well.
Naruto goes downhill after Itachi's death. One piece is so damn long that I stopped reading it after Fishman arc.
XXX Holic, Nodame Cantabile (romance and classical music, not really horror or psychological) and Kyoukai no Kanata, Aku no Hana, Mirai Nikki, and so on, and on, and on.... If anyone tells you to try boku no pico, for Hell's sake DON"T DO IT. Read up on what that particular anime is about before you try anything.
Don't play chess with pigeons-they'll just knock over the pieces, shit on the board and strut about like they won anyway.

For anyone who remembers me going on an archive binge: Thank you all. I know I ended it being a drama queen, I don't really agree with the ideology anymore, and I'm really not the same person I was (I went through a neopagan phase!) but still this site was the first online community I was in. I graduated from school and turned 18. Time flies. KFC Nyan Cat, June 20, 2019.
