Need help with Calculus problem

I have a Calculus test on Tuesday and I'm going through the practice test for it. There's one problem on there which I really don't understand at all. We worked through it today in my class and determined the limit is e^2.5. Putting it in to wolfram alpha shows that the answer we got for the two-sided limit is actually only the limit for the right side though! It says that from the left it is 1. If anybody has an explanation on how to solve it that would be great because whenever I try I just get lost in a sea of math without a paddle or sail.

It's also worth noting that the first time our professor worked through it he actually got that the limit is infinity. Basically, even our professor isn't even 100% on this problem and I'm skeptical of even his 2nd answer in light of Wolfram Alpha calculating that his answer is only for one side.

Use l'Hopital's rule to find the limit.

lim (e^(5/x)-6x)^(x/2)
x->0

a) 0 b) e^2.5 c) 1 D) infinity e) 2.5

I actually did use this on some of my tests. I don't remember what class, but I did turn in a test with just a great big 42 on it...it was probably my first try at algebra 2 honestly, I didn't understand shit and the teacher didn't give a fuck either.

I FIGURED IT OUT IN A BENADRYL HAZE.

It's e^2.5.

lim (e^(5/x)-6x)^(x/2)
x->0

ln(e^(5/x)-6x)/(2/x)

take derivatives

((1/(e^(5/x)-6x))*((-5/x^2)e^(5/x)-6))/(-2/x^2)

smoke a phat blunt

(((-5/x^2)e^(5/x)-6)/(e^(5/x)-6x))*(x^2/-2)=

((-5e^(5/x)-6x^2)/(-2(e^(5/x)-6x)))*((e^(-5/x))/(e^(-5/x))=

(-5-(6x^2)e^(-5/x))/(-2-6xe^(-5/x))

plug in 0 since finding lim as x --> 0

-5/-2=5/2

since we solved with natural logarithms the answer is actually e^(5/2) or e^(2.5), answer choice B!

Well, I think engineers and mathmaticians find it useful. I wouldnt know what use it would be to any other(though maybe somewhat finance/economics in the statistics area, but not to extent of engineers and mathmaticians)

Math is pretty much the language of science, but if you dont need to speak it then there isnt much reason to learn beyond algebra I guess(Algebra does help in ways since it teaches math of undefined variables and defining them. Ive found that algebra also kind of changes the way you think like some form of mathematic reasoning. Thats my opinion)

I knew what it was helpful for. Hence why I said "how is it gonna help me?". I have no intention of entering any of those careers yet for some dumbass reason I chose it as a subject. Probably because it was either that or statistics.

I'm not sure about the US but over here some form of maths is required to be taken every year (next year it branches off into calc and statistics). Why it's compulsory IDK.

I know in college the math branches off deoending on what you are studying, and is generally handled in your first year. If you do science or engineering or math then you'll pretty much have a math course every semester, or even a form of two(calc+physics w/calc). Just to be nice, they will let you pick what type of high level math after your second year, like asking if you'd like a hammer to the head or a brick.

Business economy and finance people get the head bashing statistics and economics itself has its own math, but it beats the stuff the science people do.
