RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

The forums are mostly read-only and are in a maintenance/testing phase, before being permanently archived. Please use this time to get the contact details of people you'd like to keep in touch with. My contact details are here.

Please do not make a mirror copy of the forums in their current state - things will still change, and some people have requested to be able to edit or delete some of their personal info.

An Idea for a Play

Here's an idea for a play I want to make.

The Devil is going through a mid life crisis of sorts. He's lost his will to be evil. So, being the supernatural being that he is, he goes and meets up with his past self. The younger, evil version then mentors him, teaching him how he can be evil again.

In my opinion, it really shines with the characters and the world it's set in. The old version of the Devil is a very complex character. He has been evil for most if his life, but now he both wants the satisfaction of doing something your good at from evil, but he can no longer take creating so much suffering anymore.

The younger version is a real treat. Imagine the most normal, average person ever. Like an office worker. Got that image? Now, imagine the Joker from the Dark Knight. Now, what if the Joker acted like that office worker? He would do the same things, say the same lines, but he would act like a completely normal dude that was perfectly sane. That's the younger Satan. Creepy, right?

Now, the world and stuff. Here's a couple "facts" from it:

-Satan is a god. God was supposed to be the god of the physical world, and Satan was supposed to be ruler of the mind. God was in charge of making the world and all of the animals and humans, and Satan was in charge of society, personality, consiousness, etc. The human consiousness was Satan's creation. But, he started to hate god, and how he ran things. So much, he traded his power over the mind for a place that God cannot enter. Hell. He still has standard God powers, (Omnipresence, Omniscience, etc.) But he does not have control over anything.

-The power of the mind was given to humans, which we know as free will. If you sell your soul, this basically gives him this power, along with the power to create your own destiny. It says in the contract that he'll only use it to give you what you want, but the fine print is sinister. That policy only last ten years. Then, Satan will start controlling your life. And he will take away every thing that's given you any amount of happness in the most cruel way possible. Not the old Satan, he'll just give you what you want.

I just thought of this Friday, so this is very early. I see a few plotholes already. What do you think?

HERESY! BLASPHEMY! SEDITION *BLAM*

So if satan meets younger satan, can we presume younger satan ended up losing his interest in evil after mentoring older satan, which then repeats the cycle as young satan gets old and meets young satan to gwt mentored?

RE: An Idea for a Play

Yes and no. Older Satan isn't the only reason Younger Satan loses interest in evil. He does start the process, but his transformation is slow, and he does it all on his own.
