To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

Why do Gym Uniforms exist?

I believe that Gym Uniforms exist to leech money off parents. They are inconvenient, easy to lose, and make me late for class.

Why do Gym Uniforms exist?

I keep forgetting that schools actually have students wear gym uniforms that are purchased from the school. My school just asks you to keep a pair of shorts and a T shirt in your gym locker.

As for the post, your first sentence is somewhat correct but you're other three arguments can be said about regular gym clothing, unless you have to keep your uniforms in a certain place.

Ah, school gym uniforms.

My school has a major hard-on for forcing students to buy gym clothes from them. If not, you will fail the class. I never took P.E. in middle school for this exact reason: I had to buy gym clothes. I don't really understand. Why not just bring your own clothes? Oh wait, because the school wants to leech money off you.

I do have to admit that making students buy uniforms is fucking stupid.

I never had that issue though as my school just made you bring your own.

But when you have gym for your first period (what kind of satanic being makes gym someone FIRST class of the day?) You kind of want to be able to change into something and not your nice clothes all icky.

My school just had people bring in their own shit, you didn't have to buy anything for gym at all. Maybe a padlock if you wanted to keep people out of your locker.



If I was told back then that I'd have to buy some silly uniform or i'd fail I'd just laugh and let them fail me. Fuck that, i've got more important stuff to spend my cash on.

That's fine but there is no reason for mandatory matching uniforms. Kids should be given the option. Oh and as long as they don't smell like shit everyday.
