To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

What should we do with school?
I know school sucks here in America, (and many other countries as well).
What do you think would be a good idea for making schools a better place to learn?
I personally think that school needs to be owned by the state so that people can go there for free, but I disapprove of the control the state has over schools. For example, I think a teacher should teach a class to learn the subject, rather than learning to take a standardized test. Because of acts like NCLB, teachers are unable to be creative in class, and just teach the same shit in every class. And who cares about standardized test scores? Is it really something to be proud of if your country is spewing people that are all the same from schools? It doesnt seem like a country that supports the individual, but instead opposes it. I know this as a fact from being yelled at for speaking my opinions in class.
Any way what are your thoughts on this?

Schools should be modeled after democratic schools. That would solve most things. Or it should just be optional. That way they would have to make them better so that people would actually want to go there.

Just making them community centers would be a big improvement. Meaning no one would be required to go, and there wouldn't be grades.

This... they still need to exist because not all parents have the luxury to homeschool/unschool and sometimes homeschooled/unschooled kids can benefit from a teacher who has knowledge on certain subjects.

The only way is to end compulsory education is really to have a revolution against the state.
BUt otherwise,settle for the second best, cyber school, GED,homeschool, etc.
or just suck the shit up.
