To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

I tend to only worry about it in my 3rd hour study hall because I have a girl behind me...in the last class I have there are 2 guys that can see my screen, but they're cool enough that they aren't going to rat me out for being on reddit and looking at the NSFW pictures on my front page (they actually barely ever pay attention because they're on their computers anyways) and every other class I either can't use my laptop or have nobody behind me

The thing is though, in my first hour class (world history) I don't like being in the back, but mainly because we've started just watching videos and listening to lectures (he's a fun teacher so it's not terrible atleast unless i'm tired) so we can't use our laptops, however i hate it because the 3-4 people in front of me won't get their heads out of the way so i can see the video

I dislike when people sit behind me
I hate it when people sit behind me while I'm in a desk. They think being taller than children gives them permission to put their feet on the book-holding thingy beneath my chair and shake my desk around while they attempt to get comfortable.

I dislike when people sit behind me
This is the reason I always arrange my computer setup so the screen is facing a wall, so it's really hard for anyone to get behind me. The closest they can get is next to me, where I can see them just as much as they can see me.
