To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

Ceiling Fans

So a few days ago I found this giant old hunter ceiling fan in the alley that came out of an old house that's being renovated. I took it home with the intention of hanging it in my room. The fan I've had in here pretty much all my life is a miserable piece of shit that can barley move air and this Hunter is a badass cast iron behemoth manufactured in the 1920's, and it can move some serious goddamn air. I finally got some free time today so I took down the old fan sorted out the wires and was about to bring out the new one to hang up when I realized I don't have a bracket to mount it to the ceiling with. I could use the one from the old fan but I don't trust it. The old on weighs 5-8 pounds max and the hunter must weigh at least 40 maybe even 50. So now I have to order a new one and instead my room being turned into a wind tunnel I'm sitting here at the computer typing in a room with dead hot air. Even with the windows open no fucking air is moving through the house.

Fuck ceiling fans. they get all dusty and then all they do is fly dust all over the place.

I never turn mine on. I never even turn the lights in my fan on unless i need the extra light. I hate that thing. bad vibes.

My fan is pretty much on 24-7 unless it's cold out. Fucking Florida. Thing gets dusty as all hell but since I never turn it off it all gets packed on there real tight, It looks like a giant version of the fans inside you're computer when you forget to clean them for a long time.
