RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017
The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.
If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.
To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

So I Stood Outside For 30 Minutes
in the cold, waiting for the bus.
Then it dawned on me; today was one of those few days a year where school starts two hours later.
I was freezing when I came back in, too. I'm such an idiot

RE: So I Stood Outside For 30 Minutes
lol, that's why if it's really bad outside you go back in and check if skool is cancelled...happened to me not too long ago when i couldn't even see half my driveway bc of the fog, but i started my car anyways to warm it up while i went back in and checked for skool to be cancelled (2 hour delay sadly) and then i just went and grabbed my keys and took a nap for a change and when i woke up skool was cancelled (i looked outside and could atleast see to the road this time though)

So I Stood Outside For 30 Minutes
At twenty minutes is where I drew the line and stayed home when the bus never came.
The purpose of life is a life with a purpose
So I’d rather die for a cause than live a life that is worthless
I don’t need the circus or the day of national observance
I need you to think for you and stop being a servant

i can drive to school now...so "the bus never came" isn't a very good excuse anymore...and never was because my bus driver always got there before 720 (sadly)

So I Stood Outside For 30 Minutes
Hahaha.
I fell asleep afterschool, and I woke up at 710. I ran up and showered and got dressed, got ready and out the door by 730, only to wait for an hour, because it was 730pm.. instead of A.m...

Not all of us are lucky enough to have cars.
I can get my permit whenever I want, but my dad won't let me until I bring my grades up -.-

Well, my dad doesn't really give a fuck what I want, as long as I get my school shit done. He makes me walk or take the bus and I live a half mile away from the school or so.

that's about how far i live from my skool i think, but if i talk to the person who is working my route this year then i could ride the bus if i wanted...but i'm not walking there, i have bible study in the morning so i can always ask one of them for rides if i need to

i go because i want to, if i ever decide to try and get into a Mormon school, it'll be a lot easier, and it actually is one of the few things that have helped me "come out of my shell" and be less introverted and shy around people and girls...hell, i made 2 friends that are girls this year that i knew nothing about, and , although i haven't met them officially yet, i am friends with 2 other girls (1 i met through my cousin and the other who idr how i found on FB)
