RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

The forums are mostly read-only and are in a maintenance/testing phase, before being permanently archived. Please use this time to get the contact details of people you'd like to keep in touch with. My contact details are here.

Please do not make a mirror copy of the forums in their current state - things will still change, and some people have requested to be able to edit or delete some of their personal info.

RE: Surviving this year

The book I'm reading was found on TPB and basically anyone that is in a position of real-world power hates the website because according to American laws, it is a website full of Copyright Infringement. The book is called "We are anonymous inside the hacker world of lulzsec" and I only downloaded it because it sounded slightly interesting and when i finally got bored enough to start reading it i couldn't stop...what i hate though is that it has 27 chapters (same as this other book i was supposed to read for english class...more in next paragraph) so it could take me a while, especially since it's on my laptop.

In my english class i got one of those fucking dumb teachers that makes us read a book every 3 weeks(i think, either that or just every 9 weeks) and we have to pass an AR test on it and if we fail then we don't get credits for this (you really shouldn't fail the test if you've read the book, but if you do then yea) but i told her that i was reading this book and asked if i could just make a summary of it and she said yes...it's the same length as the book i found in the library "diary of the madman underground" (don't exactly remember and can't check til monday, but i believe it's basically about a fight club in a school)

now back to the topic at hand...survival

A SS uniform. We don't need to tell everyone what it is, so it kinda has to be discreet. Maybe just a badge or something. Something we could recognise each other by, but no one else could. Maybe a devil derp face badge. That would be cool.

A universal symbol, like early Christians would draw in the sand?

An interesting idea. We'd need a distinct logo that doesn't look pagan, though.

RE: Surviving this year

We all live too far. That just proves that no matter where you live, school is fucked up. But the idiot goes on trial the 15th, and I am scared shitless. Unless she got a brain transplant or the judge is a douchebag, she isnt going anywhere. If she gets out, my life will be FUCKIN HELL!!! But I guess if she gets out, I should at least enjoy my life untill she comes back into it. She better not get out. I will be doomed. If she gets out, that day I will hire a bodyguare to beat the shit outta her. But I guess I shouldnt think about it, she beat up a cop, a prison guard and her inmates so how would they expect me, her daughter to not be beat up. But on a happier note, the 14th is my birthday! I will be one year closer to getting out of this hellhole. I will be 14.

... well now those posts that were made when we found out you were a girl seem even creepier...oh well Biggrin

turning 14 on the 14th, huh? Better make it a good party bc you only get to have the same 2 numbers as your birthday once (captain obvious here for your daily dose of obviousness...but still)

I really hope it takes her 25 years. She fucked up my life. I think it is cool that I will be 14 on the 14th. But I never have a party because I have no friends! But to celebrate, I orderd 2 pounds of my favorite candy (it isnt sold here) and I will eat it all in 1 day! Yippee! And I am going to splurge on chick fil a at the airport food court! I am going to take a bus because the walk would take hours!

Surviving this year

My birthday is this Wednesday. Can I have any leftover pizza though? It's too bad the Wii U is going to come out a month, a week, AND a day AFTER my birthday. Noo

Congratulations humanity, because you refuse to let go of the old and evolve you actually make people believe in 2012. Not only that, but you're the only species on Earth that were able to make it possible, now we get to sit until we die because we couldn't get to Mars. We have failed as a society and don't deserve our gifts to survive for this long. Maybe this is why dinosaurs are extinct, we sure aren't any better than the dirt you say we're created from. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pla...DvwSOFto#! Noo

This website keeps giving me chances to use my worthless knowledge to learn other people...idk if that's good or bad though lol, well here is today's words of wisdom

Hidden stuff:
lack of sleep=food

mmmmmmmmmmmmmm candy

if you don't much care for going to the second link then just read this...the more candy you eat, the more saliva you create...wihch means that your teeth survive the candy war for a little bit longer...plus, the more candy you eat, the more likely you are to brush your teeth afterwards

wish we could all get together for the party tho...too much of a drive for me to bother to go hang out tho lol
