To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

Please do not make a mirror copy of the forums in their current state - things will still change, and some people have requested to be able to edit or delete some of their personal info.
Everyone has problems. Some people have problems finding a job, putting food on the table, or just trying to stay alive in a 3rd world country. But as we all know, those of us living in the first world also have equally or even more important problems that need to be addressed and solved.
And by "solved" I really mean complain and cry about it and show to other people in the hopes they may feel sorry for you. Because it will at least make us feel better. And that feeling is enough to keep us pushing on in this privileged, but also unforgiving first world.

TPB was recently DDoS'd so now it's down for the moment and I can't get my torrents!
I got System Shock 2 torrented but when I tried installing it, it didn't work on my Windows 7. So then I had to patch it and mod it but it still wouldn't work and now I feel down because I wasted so much time...
I have to walk 1/4 of a mile to get to the ice cream store I like with customizable 42 flavors soft serve and toppings plus other meals, but then I have to walk another 1/4 of a mile to get home! That's half a mile!
My DSL connection is too slow and I lag alot when playing vidya gaems on Steam.
I have to wait like 10 minutes after I fap before I can fap again. What gives, biology?
I tried torrenting Land of the Dead: Road to Fiddler's Green from FuCtUpPuNk on TPB via uTorrent, but it stopped and won't go through because of an I/O problem.
People aren't ever seeding on torrents! Come on, guys...! We're in this together...!

When I turned my fan on it buzzed alot and made an ear-piercing noise so I had to turn it off, then walk all the way to the bathroom and hold it under running hot water to clean the dust off, then haul it all the way back to my room.
I want to study things that are interesting to me but I have trouble paying attention because I have alot of video games and electronics to play with, but even as I'm playing with them, I'm still reminded about how I want to study.
I was rocking too hard back in forth in my chair, now my spine and rib has a bruise, but I can't stop rocking.
I always want to listen to music when I'm on the internet but the music I listened to is now wearing off on me but I don't want to try new music because I might not like it and I don't want time wasted on that.

VIHY is a forum for advice on fixing problems. This thread is about COMPLAINING and CRYING about problems to get people to feel sorry for us. Not about advice.

I don't want to get in the shower because of all the hard work of taking off my clothes and getting towels and wasting time and not wanting to get off of what I'm doing.
Once I'm in the shower, it's too comfy and warm and I don't want to get out but I have to.
EDIT: I made a typo in my forum post, so now I have to go and edit this post to undo it, and have to go through the hassle of telling people I edited it to take out the typo so people won't think I'm illiterate.

The input for the charger on my laptop broke. So I have to shut the laptop off and charge the battery on an external charger every 3 hours. It made me stop playing WoW and prevents me from getting Diablo 3 because when I play games it only lasts like a hour and 30 mins.

My ceiling fan has been broken for months.
My headphones are starting to break. If the plug in part is angled the wrong way, the volume's either muted or really muffled
