RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

Yeah, don't take SaintVicious too seriously, if you take the "Saint" out of his name it pretty much describes what he's like. Razz

RE: Hey, new here

I like all that stuff, except never tried weed. I love going to califorina, a lot of my family lives there so I visit there sometimes. Thats cool that a girl is into punk, guns, and cars, because whatever normal girls like is pretty boring.

RE: Hey, new here

@fish20 Yeah, I never got along well with most other girls, especially the popular cliquey ones. I have the hobbies of a boy but the sweetness and innocence of a girl. It's probably better not to smoke weed than it is to smoke it, so I guess it's a good thing, lol. Where in California does your family live?
@SaintVicious I would reccomended a Kawasaki Ninja 500R. Are you good at upgrades or tuning at all?

If you're good at tuning and upgrading, you should be able to make a really cool motorcycle out of the 500R.

RE: Hey, new here

Welcome! You seem pretty interesting Smile

I'm from the land of the Brits, england and currentely at the end of my first year at college and I too like weed. I also have an interest in motorcycles, I'm considering getting the ninja 250r as a starter bike as they are great to learn on, so I've been told, and they have awesome resale value. Although I want to own a chopper style bike as well, they are the shit.

What kind of punk are you into?

250R is good for starting bikers. Are you good at tuning and upgrading? Are you into racing?

How good's the weed where you live? Do you own any pieces?

I like The Clash, Dead Kennedys, Sex Pistols, etc. I'm not into pop-punk like Green Day or The Offspring though.

I have no idea on tuning or upgrading and I don't think racing would be my thing, although I like to watch the motogp.

I can get high grade weed where I live, the last couple of strains I've smoked is blue cheese, AK-47 and lemon haze. Lemon haze tasted real nice, but the blue cheese was better on the high. And nah, I just smoke blunts/joints most of the time, although I use my pipe from time to time and sometimes I'll shotty out of a bong or vaporizer if someone has one.

Some good punk bands there Smile I also like some Irish punk, like flogging molly and dropkick murphys.

Do you care about tuning?

I like bongs and vaporizers because they're more conservative of weed than joints or blunts. I usually use a ROOR bong I have

Hey there. I know this has been established several times over now, but you sound pretty damn cool. Yes

Dunno' if you mind me asking or not, but how and at what age did you get into smoking? Is it legal where you're at?

RE: Hey, new here

I started in my freshman year of high school, when I was 14. I had already hated middle school for the unnecessary drama, but it was nothing compared to high school. All the kids who I thought were my friends became d-bags cuz they thought that being a high schooler made them instantly cool. I'd see some kids go into what was called "The Pit" near our school in the morning and light up. It was basically an abandoned room in the school with no windows. Thinking it would cure my stress, I went in and bought some weed and thought it was amazing. I live in California and it is legal but I don't get it legally, lol.

When did you start smoking?

RE: Hey, new here

Haha like a boss. I started freshman year too. It was on this Quaker trip my family has been going to since before I could walk. It's in a nice little state park, they rent out the youth camp for about 5 days on thanksgiving week and it's a fun place to go, get away from all the shit in the world and have some fun in the woods. Quakers are real big hippies and the kids are no exception. There is a group of about 5 of us who hang out together since we have known each other forever, I've always been the youngest, everyone else is about 2 years older than me. We get a cabin to ourselves and can do whatever strikes our fancy for the week. Anyway, one of my best friends, David brought some weed that year and asked me if I had ever smoked before. I was pretty nervous but I played it cool and said that I had once before. Looking back on it I'm pretty sure he knew I was bullshitting, guess he let me get away with it hehe. Anyhow, We toked up in the woods on the first night, It felt nice but I didn't really get high which is pretty common your first time. Second night though, man oh man did I ever get fucked up. We smoked in the woods and then went up to the dining hall about 12 at night and made cookies, I was laughing my ass off at everything while we made them, I remember pretending the big walk in fridge was like Allosimanius Syneca from Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy (That place from the movie with the portals and all the snow) other than a serious case of the giggles though I wasn't too bad, but after we were done cooking I started tripping like a mofo. We left the kitchen and went out into the dining hall part to fuck around, they tried to play twister but I was to damn fucked up to move. I just sat there listening to the Grateful Dead play through the stereo and ate my cookies. It was an amazing experience.

I don't smoke. I saw this girl acting as though she was high once though... pretty scary. Laugh

@Thought Criminal Wow, that's an amazing story. It seems that stoners all have this amazing story of the first time they've been high, but all I have is, "Went in, bought weed, smoked it," lol.
@FarBeyondDriven Oh, lol. I just kinda assumed since you asked that you had too.
