Why Teens Drop Out of High School?

Seriously?
1) Most people go to school because they are forced by law. Most people are afraid of the law because they don't know much about it. Thus fear-mongering. The law says you can drop out of high school at an age when you are still in high school. So the first opportunity people can drop out legally, they will.
2) You're basically learning things by force, and not because you're sincerely interested in what you're learning. Therefore, being in high school is a waste of time.
3) If you're forced to do something that you don't want to do all day long, why would you want to continue it unless there is some sort of fear mongering?
4) Teachers and those in power of authority do not care about the beliefs of what they deem "radical" students. They just exclude them or send them to some mental institution or psychologist to "fix" them not taking into account that they themselves may be wrong.

7) Some people are aware of forced conformity and want to get away from it.

And much more. Usually l don't wan to post ideas because l know someone else is going to take credit for it, but this concerns me a lot, and it is important that people understand that school =/= education. School is NOT education. And public schooling is not public schooling, it's governmental schooling.

People are brainwashed into thinking school is the only way to learn stuff when really, most people learnt when they were young, with a little help or very little help (auto-didact).

Society is fucked because it cares more about the piece of paper that assesses the person rather than the actual person itself. Judging people by pieces of paper, may it be a "license to do anything" or a "degree to carry out certain tasks", is paranoid, costly, a waste of time, and the wrong way to go around things.

A senior at my school dropped out a month ago. She had like 6 weeks to go before she was completely done with school, and she didn't have any reason to drop out besides "school is too hard"
I understand people dropping out for legit reasons, but complaining that school is too hard and dropping out SIX WEEKS before you're done for good is the most retarded fucking thing ever IMO. Just finish the short 6 weeks up instead of dropping out

Just wondering Scotteade, why are you asking? The main reason would be that school is pointless even from a purely practical standpoint and horrendous from many others (such as keeping your sanity), but that's sort of a consensus around these forums, surprisingly. So again, why are you asking?

Generalizations, man, generalizations. Most of the kids are ok, they've just been taught to think a certain way, like dogs. Many of them have broken free from the restraints of the dogmatic principles that school teaches everyone from a young age, but are afraid to rise up because of potential consequences.
