Hey there. I'm new here, hence the thread; fifteen, female and from England. I've been browsing the website for a few days now and thought I'd sign up, join in with the forum and such, since I can relate to a fair amount of what I've seen written here, particularly other people's experiences with the schooling system. Hell, asking my teacher today (I attend an online school, costing £10 a day or £2000+ a year, which of course adds a lot of pressure upon me) whether or not global warming had been scientifically proven, since the whole lesson was about something supposedly caused by it and I saw no point in being told opinions as though they were fact without them actually being so. Her reply was, "We're not talking about that right now." If she could see my face upon her saying that... I was practically cringing. I mean, she was right; we certainly were not talking, about anything. Rather, she was spouting spineless nonsense at the class, allowing no area for challenge, just expecting us to thankfully lap up the glorious gift of education we were receiving from her script-reading, robotic "self" -- glorious what with how thoughtful and accessible for the independently minded human being and not sheep marionette thing it was. Idiot.

I get decent grades -- 95% on both my history and geography homework yesterday, fine for my first week after a long absence for several years due to social anxiety and OCD -- but I have an English assignment due in tomorrow after having a week to complete it that I'm yet to restart after my computer deleted everything I'd already done for it. Goddamn my slack and utter lack of interest, I can't get into the writing again, you know? I'm in a haze (no, not that kind, crackhead) of panic and for what -- to be told I'm either not good enough or good enough for [Insert Name of Person Whose Opinion or Job Position I Do Not Care For Here]?

I believe that's all anyway. The only reason I care about doing well in school right now is because I am worried about my financial future, being honest with you.

Long, boring post, sorry. Guess I can ramble. Thanks to the creator of SS (I'm not a Nazi, don't worry) and I'll suppose I shall see you around. Nearly 1AM here, going to get to bed. I hope to stay around a while and contribute as best I can. Farewell everyone.

England is a nice place overall, sure. Heh, I find it quite awesome you're all the way in Africa right now. Long way away ain't it? My mother's actually from Nigeria.

Hobby-wise, I'm someone who wants to do a lot of things but never gets round to actually doing them. I listen to a lot of music -- I want to learn the guitar. I have my sights set on teaching myself a few programming and markup languages and would enjoy doing something along the lines of coding for a living... kind of nerdy maybe but ehh, I can't help it; I love the technicality. I'm also a passionate fan of professional wrestling... I watch though don't follow tennis as well. Wanna' start reading more... considerably interested in boring, old novels -- noticed how my rambling typically starts to mimic one?

That's all really, I believe. Yourself?

You mean mat wrestling vs. WWE (pro wrestling)? Well, Chris Benoit for example... he's my in-ring idol. I see him as a pro wrestler, comparable to a mat wrestler, though he competed on in companies like WCW, WWF/WWE ("like", in them being pro not mat) half his career. I don't believe he was ever a mat wrestler. Anyway, after his death (result of brain damage caused by competing), the landscape of the industry changed completely. I think he was the last of a dying technical professional wrestler breed. I personally don't watch companies around today due to that breed having now died out.

Do you rollerblade and ice skate yourself? Don't know much about rollerblading, I love watching figure skating and I like skateboarding. I'm way into video games too.

Preach, except I was a wrestling (company) fan until I thought they'd all become a house to soap operas. The actual wrestling part died alongside Benoit in my opinion... so I suppose I'm a wrestler fan, lol, since I can't bring myself to watch the modern bull and only follow a hand full of guys, all of whom are long gone career-wise and otherwise... wise.
