To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

Stealing at my school, I could get in shit

We were in PE, inside the gym building waiting for the teacher to come and open the doors to the stadium thing. People were messing around a lot, throwing trash cans and cones from stairs... Some guy was hitting a metal curtain-like thing, like in a kiosk (I don't know how it's called) and out of boredom/curiosity I tried to lift it. It actually came off and was very difficult to close, at least with people crowding and trying to open it. Then the teacher came, seemingly didn't notice, opened the door...
At this point I could have told the teacher what was going on, but I didn't, the though didn't cross my head, fucking stupid. At the end of class we were released 15 minutes early because of being "too loud", and people crowded, I just tried to leave but people had actually taken a lot of stuff... supposedly most of it. Some seemed to know that I accidentally the kiosk door thing earlier. I just left, and a friend told me one guy was arrested. :\

What is the worst that may happen, and what should I do?

No, I'm serious.

Should be really unlikely to happen in a school like mine in a relatively good place, it's actually considered a good one. Seems that shit has really hit the fan lately.

I stole the maths staffroom sign from my old school building before it was demolished. Not relevant, but I felt like sharing.

Probably nothing will happen. If you didn't do it intentionally, it is likely that no-one will care. And it sounds like only a few know it was you, so chances are they wont question those particular few. You should be fine.

I don't think anything can really happen to you. In situations like these, they can pretty much only ask you if you've stolen anything. Then you say no. That's the end of it unless they have evidence that says you took something.

Whoever was caught stealing was having a little too much fun.
