RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

Healthy meals I can cook

At one point I was at a healthy weight...then I quit smoking weed and gained a lot of weight, so I need to lose it again. What's some healthy meals I can cook, because the only thing I know how to make is vegetable soup...

No, this is Patrick.

Try to keep it rather unfried. Not too much meat. Eat Fruits when hungry for snacks.
There are a lot of healthy ways , just google them. You'll be bound to find something that looks edible then.
Aaannddd, ultimately, do sports.

Mix raw meat, bleach, and cigarettes into a blender and enjoy with 100% alcohol.

RE: Healthy meals I can cook

I'm a healthy male, but I don't think you'd want to eat me.

- Eggs. Fuck people who think the cholesterol makes them bad.
- Avoid anything with high fructose corn syrup, or fructose in general.
- Glucose is your friend.
- Apples, oranges, grapes, and bananas. For real.
- Probably get some vegetables, but I never have access to them, so I just eat vegie soup too lol.
- Don't overdo it with the dairy products, although they aren't too bad for you.
- Jog a little.
- Nuts are alright.

And stuff. Inb4 aya.

If you aren't a vegeturdian I suggest grilling a bunch of chicken and freezing them and unthawing them as needed. I like marinating them in thousand island dressing

RE: Healthy meals I can cook

Thanks for your answers everyone...recently I went vegan again and I've already lost a few pounds, if I keep at it I'll finally be normal again...

Do you think it'd be ok to drink soy milk just in coffee? I usually drink like 4 cups a day and fill the cup with about 1/4 milk or soy milk.

No, this is Patrick.

Yeah, what's your point? Are you referring to when I said soy milk or milk in my coffee?

I meant that I used to put 1/4 milk, but since becoming vegan I've started using soy milk. I'm mostly vegan for my health, because it works really well for me...wearing leather shoes and etc, I don't really care too much.

No, this is Patrick.

RE: Healthy meals I can cook

I think you are all overblowing how bad food is, but whatever, salads errday I guess, I am not a huge vegetable fan so my pallet doesn't go past celery lettuce tomatoes and other similar vegetables. I don't think cooked vegetables unfreeze well, so everything you do is going to be day to day, I'm too lazy for that so I have a freezer filled with stuff I made in the past.

Yeah it really is day to day. Usually I'd go and get McDonald's or some other food that's basically garbage, but now I just eat soup or something else I made myself that's healthy. If you just stumbled upon this thread or even if you didn't, if you eat fast and processed foods, stop now.

No, this is Patrick.

RE: Healthy meals I can cook

No thanks, cause I really don't give a fuck, to be THAT health for what? To live past 70? What for? Shit I'm not even excited about turning 70. To be that decripid despite what you eat. Too much focus for 0 reward.
Also asking me to give up spicy chicken sandwiches nigga you must be trippin

That didn't come out right. I'm not trying to tell you to stop eating your spicy chicken sandwiches, you're right, if I met that I would have been tripping really hard.

How about this...if you're trying to be healthy or lose weight and you're serious about it, quit eating that shit.

But it really doesn't take that much focus. Just whenever you get hungry, eat something healthy instead of shit food, and you'll feel the results. But spicy chicken sandwiches, you have a really good point

No, this is Patrick.

Oh I am in shape, No bueno being fat, because that affects me day to day unlike being vegan which may or may not tack on some extra time at the end. I stay in shape by swimming/running with my dogs.
