Former Speaker Newt Gingrich, in a face-to-face meeting with MIM's executive director, said he will enforce existing laws that make distribution of hardcore adult pornography illegal, he responded, "Yes, I will appoint an attorney general who will enforce these laws."

Here it is again, blame the media for the behaviour of citizens. Scapegoat too much and people will realise what you did... Columbine wasn't caused by video games and heavy metal, rape isn't caused by porn, youth crime isn't caused by Grand Theft Auto... by making these forms of entertainment illegal you're not preventing crime, you're just pissing people off, and as people would have no safe, legal alternative to violent games, heavy music and porn, it'd in fact increase crime rates. Also, I bet this politician doesn't realise that the average 30-40 something parent probably doesn't know enough about the internet to know how to use parental control software properly, and would end up blocking Facebook and SS, maybe even Google Images if they're paranoid enough.
