To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

Okay so today I had to watch my little cousins literally all day. All girls, a four year old, a five year old, a seven year old, and a twelve year old.

Shit was hard but I had fun.

That's not the point though.

When my mom babysits she acts like a freaking martyr "OMG I had to watch these two all day, it was so hard stop bothering me I am SOOO tired"

After I took the girls home she comes home bitching at me about the pool cover or some nonsense (keep in mind it is dark and cold out I am not doing anything with the pool). I tell her to chill and that I will do it tomorrow. She starts telling me that all I did was play all day and did nothing.

Now, I don't think I had a hard day. I had fun, essentially I did play all day, but how come she thinks it is such hard work for her, but since I enjoyed it she has the right to tell me I did nothing all day and bitch at me about something I can't do anything about until tomorrow anyway?

Good job bro! You just proved that looking after kids can be fun and not a stressful and tiring job as your mum makes it out to be. I love looking after kids, I relate to them and we muck around and do shit, and they don't start trouble with me because we're having fun, so I never have that problem.

Adults in our society make their own headaches a lot of them time when it comes to kids. They wanted to do shit in the weight room, mess around with some of the machines or dumbbells. I was letting them of course while watching them. My mom comes in a bugs out saying "oh my god they are gonna pinch their fingers or drop something on their foot!" If they get hurt they get hurt. They listen to me anyway so that chance is minimal but what do people expect? People try to make play so regimented and "safe" that it is annoying to the kids and a headache for the adults. Let's not forget trying to control a kids form of expression. I don't even care if they say "fuck" or "shit" but other adults are literally on alert for stupid shit like that just to yell at the kids. Adding yet another headache.

Babysitting kids is only hard if you are boring. But I think it would be hard to take care of kids day in and out.
