To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

I don't even know what to say to this. My cousin is going to have to retake physics next year.

My mom told me about this and its so fucking ridiculous, I can't even.

My cousin didn't hand in a major assignment for physics the day it was due, but him and his mom went over to the teachers house THAT night with the assignment done... And she wouldn't take it in.
This was after school, the day it was due.

And now my cousin is retaking physics, even though he did well on the finals. Smh.

What is with that? I could see if it had been a week even, but that night!? Teachers like this piss me off.
Honesty is the best policy, but Insanity is a much better defense.

SHUT UP it doesn't even mean he didn't learn the info! The whole point of grades is to tell how well you "learned" the info. Just because it was turned in probably 5 or 6 hours late means he doesn't know the material? And technically he still turned it in on time, if she was like "its due on the 5th of May" or something, and he went to her on the 5th of may, then he turned it in on time.

Wow, retaking for just one assignment? That sucks, I had teachers who'd at least take in projects the next day after the due date for some points off.

At the same time, if he had a deadline for some serious job and he didn't meet it on the dot, he would rightfully be fucked.

But for high school, when your in a horrible environment and most education goes right out the door when you leave, failing and having to retake a course just because of one stupid assignment is absurd.
