RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

The forums are mostly read-only and are in a maintenance/testing phase, before being permanently archived. Please use this time to get the contact details of people you'd like to keep in touch with. My contact details are here.

Please do not make a mirror copy of the forums in their current state - things will still change, and some people have requested to be able to edit or delete some of their personal info.

Boot Camp for teens

I found an e-mail in my inbox this morning, and this is what it said:

What, do they want us to fucking kill ourselves?

We all live in the dark. The light isnt what we seek. We seek the answer we want. The truth isn't some all mighty or something so perfect. Its actualy the oppsite. We know the truth is that we are what we are. We can't comprehend that one simple fact. But we still like to think theres some crazy reasoning behind everything when the light is us.

Re: Boot Camp for teens

You just found out about these places? We've had our eye on the teen behavior modification business for some time now. The list of atrocities committed in those camps is staggering. Torture, unjust imprisonment, rape, medical neglect, starvation, solitary confinement, forced labor and oh yes, good old fashioned murder. And those are just the ones that actually get reported. There's a whole network of camps along the Gulf Coast and in the Caribbean that you won't find on any website. Some get raided by police by there are still a significant number out there. And I won't even get into the mercenary fucks who work for the transport business.

Yes, these people are subhuman scum. Why NYRA isn't hungerstriking outside the gates of those places already is beyond. I guess they'd rather write a petition. Those always work.

I looked into this and found out the camps are not too far from me, just south and on the other side of the mountains. but it does not look so bad... anyone have any dirt on them? because i signed up for a program that sounds similar to this (voluntarily) and I had a blast doing it.

I've sometimes found myself fantasizing about brutally slaughtering the BM facilities' staff.

If ever the opportunity presents itself, I have several plans for avenging all those who ever suffered at the hands of the behavior modification industry.

You mean besides the fact that they torture their inmates and it's involuntary?

Some behavior modification places don't torture their inmates, and actually try to improve the kids behavior through these methods, although there are plenty of them that don't.

Not that I support them either way. As long as their sending kids there against the kids will, I will be completely and utterly against these facilities.

Re: Boot Camp for teens

People have already dug up dirt on them and exposed it. A few guys got sued, some lost their jobs, and in a matter of months there were new camps up and running under different names. Or, just illegally. The people who run these camps don't care about the law and they don't care about their reputation, because the families they prey on are desperate and vulnerable. Parents' ability to fool themselves into trusting bad people when they are told that their kids are in danger never ceases to amaze me.

Theoretically, you should be able to legally kill someone who's trying to kidnap you if you claim it was self-defense.

However, the law is going to be biased against you and will most likely punish you for defending yourself. The law will most likely side with the family of the kidnapper and your parents. If you have any criminal record that may have warranted the potential enrollment in one of those concentration camps, that will also be used against you.

I rate 4 for quite a few of these. I'm in no way dangerous at all, yet I probably fit most of the criteria for me to simply dissapear at midnight.

There needs to be some sort of "Underground Railroad" for the unfortunate victims of these blatant BM gulags. Has such an idea already been suggested or even implemented in practice? If there hasn't there really should be.

At least the bots are developing a sense of humor, albeit a slightly twisted one. Also, to anyone fantasizing about a "liberate the camps" topic...we'd kinda like to not end up in jail. Talk all you want put keep it away from places that would get this site in trouble. This is not the place to make actual plans.

Also this post was for entertainment purposes only and should not be taken seriously under any circumstances.

Breaking old habits takes a tremendous amount of time and often plenty of therapy. Typically, a juvenile boot camp lasts around six weeks in duration, making it very difficult for a teen to leave with a lasting change. Struggling teens often need therapy and more time to give them the direction they need to solve old problems and fortify their lives so as to not repeat their old problems when they finally transition back into the home.

Some of these things make no sense anyway.

Likes to be alone? How is that such a bad thing. How does that warrent being treated like a dangerous criminal?

Suffers anxiety? WTF?

Health problems? They have doctors for that!

If anything, these type of people would need this "camp" the least. (not that I'd support ANYONE being sentensed to this).
