RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

The forums are mostly read-only and are in a maintenance/testing phase, before being permanently archived. Please use this time to get the contact details of people you'd like to keep in touch with. My contact details are here.

Please do not make a mirror copy of the forums in their current state - things will still change, and some people have requested to be able to edit or delete some of their personal info.

Oh you poor dear... would you like a ponytail palm when I get around to propagating it?

Lol Seems like suicide is a pretty good option for you. Chug bleach or anti-freeze. Too bad you're too much of a pussy to go through with it so you come here and we have to listen to you bitch and whine. Fucking attention whore. Popcorn

I... are you telling me to commit suicide, and calling me an attention whore? That's not very nice. All I asked was whether or not you'd like me to share one of my Christmas gifts with you.

Okay.... I am really fucking sorry. I feel like a complete dick head. I thought you were being sarcastic. I seriously deeply apologize.

Apology accepted. You really freaked me out though, although looking back I guess it makes sense if you don't know how into plants I am. My Christmas list was mostly trees. Laugh
The offer still stands, though, if you ever find yourself in need of a houseplant that can handle up to 4 weeks without water.

Hug It is ok. I understand that you thought I was being sarcastic, and I now realize that you were being sarcastic in return. It's about 1 AM where I am and I'm not thinking the clearest, but I see where you could have had that idea. You'll have to tell me what to name the pup, though. I can't very well go around calling it Barbie Jr. while it grows roots.

No, I want to be honest. I said that to intentionally try to hurt you. Even if you were being sarcastic in the first post it didn't deserve the response I gave.

Hug Thanks for being understanding.

Name for the plant? Sudowoodo..... or Bonsley.... lol

RE: MERRI KURISMASU

The response is understandable, considering that it looked like I was making fun of your disappointing Christmas. Hug

Bonsley would probably be better, considering Barbie looks like this:

And your plant will be one of the offshoots. It's one of the easiest ways to propagate these things- instead of waiting years for it to be ready to produce seeds, and then going through all the trouble of finding a tree the opposite gender of yours to make the seeds viable, you cause one of the branches to grow roots, then sever it from the tree. The end result will look like this:

And I know the second picture is bigger- I don't know how to make that smaller, but the mom is about 12in high and the pup will be about 3 inches when it's all ready.

RE: MERRI KURISMASU

Bonsley it is then as they actually kinda resemble bonsleys! lmao

I actually didn't know for some plants they had male/female counter parts. That's pretty damn cool. Though, yes, the branch offshoot idea sounds a lot easier.

RE: MERRI KURISMASU

I made out pretty damn well this year, I'd like to think. Gifts acquired include...

Father: $200.
Mother: $25 Gamestop card, Dynasty Warriors 7: Xtreme Legends, shirt, metric fuckton of cookies and candies.
Sister: Shirts, sleep pants that I'll probably never use, and jacket of some fashion that I'm not sure how to classify, but it looks decently comfy.
Mother's side of the family: A collective total of $110.

Yeah, I'm very content this Christmas.
