Nothing provides me with more Vindication then seeing my mothers XP anally raped by no less than 3 Trojans an email worm, and 20 other miscellaneous viruses.

Did I mention that windows defender has been taken off the computer, and I can't reconfigure the firewall?

1) Use Windows 7 with a Avast! Free AV with Comodo Firewall and network firewall (router).
2) You don't need an AV or software firewall, it just helps.
3) Don't be a dumb shit on the internet. Know what you download.
4) Linux is good, but plays no games and isn't compatible with my software.
Windows + Linux > Mac though.

In short, Spy Sweeper supposedly removes all viruses. But I did a scan and it didn't remove a virus. I called tech support and after hours of hold music, I got sum dood from India saying I have to pay moar monies to actually remove that virus even though thats what the software was made for.

My lunix installation is somehow quite a bit slower than my Windows one in terms of... Java/minecrack and web browsing, and it sucks at memory management, seemingly. When my ram gets to like 90% it begins to freeze a lot even though the swap is only at like 5%, wtf is the purpose of the swap then?
But then my /home partition is also 90% full.

I use both Windows 7 (with antivirus & firewall and I disable javascript and don't click on dodgy links like a n00b)... and Lubuntu. And Android. And Symbian. Er yeah. I like messing about with stuff.

Comodo is nice in default deny mode. Nothing gets through unless I specifically allow it.

I have Lubuntu 11.04... haven't had any problems, but then it is a bit different from 'normal' Ubuntu. (Faster & lighter & stuff)

CrunchBang! A nice debian-based flavor (or so I assume); in my opinion. OpenBox is just nice lightweight. But really, everybody uses what suits him, if it might be windows, linux-distros or just a sweet bsd.

I have Ubuntu installed on my laptop and it runs a lot slower than when it had Winblows installed. In addition it's far from stable, I'm dealing with a crash just about every day. I will be using Winblows on the Desktop I am getting soon.

1) Yeah but I heard that's really shit, and half the games don't work with the emulator and causes some issues.

Meh I'm still using archlinux and I made the theme all evil and shit, I plan on just wiping out useless shit on /home and then it should work fine compared to XPee :\

And yeah you're right you don't need it. It's perfectly fine for internet and minecrack. I'd say, don't get it unless your winblows stops working because of a virus or something, until then stay with windows.

I think it's more of the way lunix works and software is distributed that it doesn't get viruses.
