RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

The forums are mostly read-only and are in a maintenance/testing phase, before being permanently archived. Please use this time to get the contact details of people you'd like to keep in touch with. My contact details are here.

Please do not make a mirror copy of the forums in their current state - things will still change, and some people have requested to be able to edit or delete some of their personal info.

This is some 'ol bullshit.

I haven't done my math homework in about a month, and I pretty much skipped the class and dodged it through vacation up until today, each day more and more work piled on. Right now, I have about 10 pages left, and I just got done staying up all night and I got roughly 25-30 pages out of the way, plus my philosophy homework, and I still have to finish a novel for English class and write around 20 pages of notes on it, print out my sources for some other English shit, and rewrite a dissertation on why marijuana should be legal for my politics and government class. See kids, this is what procrastination does to you.

I'm all hopped up on coffee and soda, and my patience is wearing thin. While I pride myself on my intellect and my ability to get through large workloads when I put my mind to it, this is a bit much. If I enjoyed it I'd likely of gotten it all done weeks if not months ago, but I don't so it's extremely straining on my nerve.

Fuckity shit, I hope I don't fail. I'll have to come up with an excuse for my English teacher, like I forgot my shit at home, and then I'll have to read half a novel and write a bunch of shit on it for the next day. I'm probably going to have to pull off another 2 nighter. That's all night all day all night all day. Two days of non stop intellectually straining bullshit work. I've done it before, but only with computers when I was working on shit I enjoyed. Not sure if I'll be able to pull it off doing school work, and if I do, I'll be sleeping for at least a full 24 hours afterwards. At least.

Well dude, sucks to be you.

Hope you get this shit out of the way quickly, without too much stress.

You know, there is a Spanish habit called "seita", that you take a nap after lunch.

Sleep after lunch, and take care of all this work at the evening .
It will make you feel better.

I wish you the best of luck! I used to do that kind of thing, but know I will work through half is someone gets on me for being behind or if another massive work load is coming, that way I still pass. Shrug Hope you make it through to the other side

RE: This is some 'ol bullshit.

The only thing out of all that I would do is the paper on why marijuana should be legal, and I would do it damn well.

No, this is Patrick.

RE: This is some 'ol bullshit.

Except it's more of a cooperative vs. dual federalism paper that uses marijuana as a base. :l

Anyways, I didn't finish the novel in time, and I forgot the politics shit at home so there was no point. Lololo. Still have a shitload of work to do this weekend, but I'll put it off until sunday night.
