To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

The whole damn video or at least 99.99% of it was just ignorant brainwashed artists giving sob stories about how piracy is supposedly "killing" the music industry and they never even touch arguments from the other side. This is propaganda, not a documentary.
A documentary should analyze arguments from both sides of an issue and form an opinion and allow room for civil debate of other opinions. When a documentary focuses mostly on one argument and completely or partially ignore the other side and instead impose the dominant view on its viewers it's no longer a documentary. It's propaganda.

Re: Anti-Piracy Propaganda Posing as a Documentary
Hey, free speech is free speech. The vast majority of documentaries out there that deal with political issues are hardly biased. Instead of getting angry when the enemy makes propaganda against us, how about making some of our own? Someone should make a documentary about the ordinary people who had their lives destroyed by RIAA lawsuits. One of the famous cases was a single mother on an Indian reservation who was sued for millions. Can't be hard to make a tearjerking human interest movie out of that, right?
I think Buenaventura Durruti is a pretty cool guy. eh kills fascists and doesnt afraid of ruins. The quickest way to kill a revolution is to wait for it.

Good point.

Re: Anti-Piracy Propaganda Posing as a Documentary
I pirate STEAL (I'M A FUCKING CROOK AND PROUD) music because if I didn't pirate I just wouldn't have it. That guy was whining about how there were 5,000 seeders and that was enough for a gold record. Sorry man, but if there wasn't piracy DISTRIBUTION POINTS FOR UNLAWFULLY OBTAINED MUSIC most of those people wouldn't have the song and wouldn't pay your sorry ass for it. Also, You guys are really hurting there. Gold record guy has a room made out of some exotic wood and a fancy ass computer. Creepy old guy lives in fucking california and has an $80 haircut. Yeah, poor artists. You know what, Choke on it you selfish fucks. Your music blows ass anyway.
Re: Anti-Piracy Propaganda Posing as a Documentary
It's very rare that I think an album is worth buying. If it is, I'll pirate it. And buy it the first chance I get. Unnatural selection, it works bitches.

This verily.
I also steel shit IRL, but only shit from large super-corporate fucks who have too much money. I usually stay away from small businesses and shit.
(Oh btw Mr. policeman, this entire thread should be taken as a joke...)
Re: Anti-Piracy Propaganda Posing as a Documentary
Remember this one complaint where some idiot was whining about not making enough money(what he wanted to make) for some movie he made.
I remember a comment saying how in this world we have people along with their families on the streets who have no money. shelter or food and this guy has the nerve to whine about piracy and not making what he wanted to make.
He went on to say if he met this guy he would break his neck and shit down his mouth and it was one of the best anti piracy comments I ever had ever read.
Re: Anti-Piracy Propaganda Posing as a Documentary
Piracy, if it wasn't for piracy I wouldn't have had half the music on my PC before I got the zune marketplace membership that allows me to basicly pirate music under legal means.

Triggering works through thesenses(i.e. smell, taste, touch, vision, hearing.) but it goes throughreal time; if you're not experiencing it in real life as it'sACTUALLY HAPPENINGin yourACTUALlife, youCANNOTbe triggered. The only exception to this is if you have aseizure, but then again, that's triggered byepilepsy(i.e. rapidly-changing flashing lights)NOT PTSD. This verily. So would I.
It's not stealing. The vast majority of the music I have, I wouldn't have bought if there was no way to pirate it. Hell, I probably wouldn't have even known it existed. Out of all my music, there's only a very small minority I'd consider worth buying... and I've actually started doing that. Ordered the first batch the other day... straight from the source: band's own online shop. Much cheaper than getting it from a local shop here (lol, like I'd find it in a shop here... they'd have to import it anyway).

Hell yes, pirating is win. I owe my entire collection of awesome and obscure music, movies and games to the pirates of the interwebs. Yo ho ho and a bottle of this!

TC, you don't realize the stupidity of your post. I can't believe you would come to this kind of conclusion. I, for one, will not stand for you making up this kind of stuff. Piracy is serious business and I will not be told otherwise. What you don't seem to realize is that sharing is the very foundation on what this country was built on. We are taught teamwork, sportsmanship, and balance through sharing expensive products over peer-to-peer networks. Without all of this, our society and humanity as we know it would fall.
I'm glad to be part of such a unique empire and I will fight to the death for it. It's in my spiritual being to come to the aid of those who need it. To be questioned is to be dishonored and you should know that by now. We are all insignificant in this universe, and if nothing matters that means that everything matters. An example of my understanding can be seen in the book "Go, Dog. Go!" When the dog hits the red light, he stops. This can be compared to many things in modern-day life, such as when you get your girlfriend pregnant because you forgot to wrap it, or when you decide your kid is too ugly to keep. Everything gets better, however, when you hit that green light, and it's smooth sailing ahead.
Some people do not make it to this green light and eventually take their own life. I am saying it is not the right thing to do; stick with what is hard and you will be rewarded in the end. No matter how hard life is or how bad your love life is, what you can do is all you can do, and that's all that matters from a realistic standpoint.
