To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

I just joined and I wanted to introduce myself
I found this place about a year ago by accident, and just today decided to finally make an account. So I decided to just tell everyone a little bit about myself and say hi.
I'm a guy, I'm 16, and I'm in my junior year. I have gone to a charter school since 10th grade after my freshman year was a wreck. My school has about 150 students and like ten teachers, so everyone knows everyone and there aren't any groups of people like the jocks or emos or what have you. There still is a social "ranking" but not as obvious as in my old pubic school.
I was born in Russia and moved here when I was seven, so English obviously isn't my first language, yet I can still speak and write better than a lot of people my age, which makes me really sad and pissed off. How hard is it to understand the difference between "your" and "you're"?
Anyways that's about it. If you have any questions about me, don't hesitate to ask, I love questions :D

Yes, I absolutely HATE school. I hate the way it's run in general and I dislike a lot of school rules and how teachers place themselves above you all the time.

Well I moved here when I was 12 from South America... still, my grammar seems to be better than a lot of native speakers', though still not nearly perfect. I think a lot of people's tendency to use shit grammar is more about laziness than anything else... I hope.

I've known people who honestly are terrible at their grammar usage, and it isn't just laziness.
