To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

Oh guys, my final math exam is tomorrow.

Fuck... I don't know if I'm going to pass or not.

If I don't pass, I will be stuck with a bunch of little kids that looks like they are still at 2th grade.

My mom will beat my ass, and she will ban me to visit the web, and videogames for all the YEAR.

I'm totally anxious guys, I studied, I had particular lessons, and I know all that is going to be at the test.

But that bitch of a teacher put fuckin fractions and decimals in almost all the test. And they are my MAIN problem.

What should I do?

Fractions and decimals? What year are you in? Must be 16 or under.
But anyway, practise that shit niggah! If you want to pass. I had an exam on parabolas, quadratic equations and all that fucked up shit, I was failing all year, but I studied my ass off the last week and passed with %56.
But if you fail, try harder next year. And if you're still failing, maybe math isn't for you. Tell your mother that, she should understand.
Good luck bro, if you fail though, don't worry about it. Life isn't over for you!
EDIT: If you're allowed to bring in a cheat sheet or cheat booklet then do so and write down all the main formulas + examples on it.

No, actually I'm 13.

Don't know how are the grades at the USA/other country, so I just say i'm at 7th Grade.

It's a bit more difficult, it's equations with decimals and fractions, system equations, and other more difficult things.

I read that 9 years of school are "mandatory" in brazil. So you have two more years of ensino fundamental II after this one? Do your school years go from august to may, or what? You said you just had a final, so that makes me think this is your second semester of your 7th year of school?
Oh, also, it says you start when you're 6, so that pretty much matches up with merca's grade levels. 'Cept in merca, you have to go till you're like 17 or some shit.

Yep, I got two more years of Ensino Fundamental (Let's just call it Middle school for now), August and may? Didn't get that question well. And yes this is my second semester of my 7th year of school. You need to go till 18 years old.

According to this website I'm looking at, ensino medio is not required. So you can stop when you're 14 if you want.

So when are your semesters? When do they start and end?

My first semester starts at February and ends at July. My second semester starts at August and it ends on the start of December.
Wait who said that? Well, it may be possible, but if you don't end ensino medio, you can't get a job in this country. The only job you can have is being a quarry worker or trash picker.

Do you mean complex as in complex numbers, or do you just mean complicated?

Anyway, yeah, algebra is not hard, most people could understand it when they are 5-10. I explained the "pre-algebra" I was learning in school to my brother when he was 5, and he totally got it right away.
