RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017
The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.
If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.
To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

Summer Homework
I have 5, 2-page essays to write. What on?
We were forced to read House on Mango Street.
HOLY SHIT, i never have read a worse and boring book than that.
The essays are supposed to write like the author wrote.
Also, my school messed up all my classes and stuff. 'Organized'
No bitch, I didn't even put Art class as my last choice. It wasn't in my choices.
I feel like a subject and school hasn't started...
THE ONLY SERIOUS WAY:
Walk into the classroom with a dead australian with a knife in his back, and say 'Gentlemen'
Speaking of tf2, newfags don't turn around.
I even sprayed something that said 'FYI I am a Spy' while disguised
Someone just stared at it... then was promptly backstabbed.
War is stupid.

Re: Summer Homework
Yea, I 'have' to read about 8 books (not one of those small ones, but some huge ass ones) or so, I won't read any of them (told this to teacher when she gave me the list ), fuck that, that's my summer, I have over 9000 better things to do, than read some retarded books, that won't give me any knowledge and I'm not interested in the stupid story either. I would rather watch a move (currently watching Stargate Universe, yes, I am an nerd.) or play a videogame. My excuse will probably be something like "Gas is expensive, I didn't have any to go to the city" or something stupid like that. I don't give a fuck.
PS. I hate books.

Re: Summer Homework
Just read, what was it, Breath, Eyes, Memory by Edwidge Danticat or something. Was easy to read but the real pain was writing a measly 3 page essay about the relationships between the women on the book. I wouldn't have done it if it weren't for my mother constantly pushing me. Now I have to read East of Eden by John Steinbeck, a 600 page book, and write another damned essay about it.
I'm writing another essay for AP Spanish right now, and I have 30 minutes left of recording I have to do talking on Spanish for AP Spanish. I'm a native speaker but it's still a pain in the ass... each recording has to be about news and almost exactly 2 minutes, and I have terrible communication skills so it's really hard for me to improvise, so I just wrote everything before saying it... and just read news articles for some of the recordings. Maybe I've just been forgetting Spanish, and my lack of willpower doesn't help a lot.
