RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

The forums are mostly read-only and are in a maintenance/testing phase, before being permanently archived. Please use this time to get the contact details of people you'd like to keep in touch with. My contact details are here.

Please do not make a mirror copy of the forums in their current state - things will still change, and some people have requested to be able to edit or delete some of their personal info.

I loved that site when I was a Freshman. Then again I believe that was the phase of my life where I adopted the fairly odd parents quote, "YAY VIOLENCE!" as my official motto.

Let's do the time warp again!

Yeah, it's immature, but it's disgusting.

it's disgusting, painful to watch, and yet, strangely addictive. Evil

I love animals, well some of them anyway but for some reason I find Happy Tree Friends hilarious. Lots of people think I'm either immature or sick for liking it but I don't care ^_^

I've seen it, I love it, and I laugh whenever one of the cute adorable animals die. That makes me sadistic, doesn't it?

Quote:My first year of pre-school I was in a fight. And when I was sent to the office, I met the Principal, he told me "stand in the corner!" And I said, "No!" He was like, "What did you say?" And I was like, "Okay... :<" So I went and stood in the corner, very upset.

LOL.

I remember preschool.......well, sorta. I only have two memories. ONe was me throwing up after eating just a single Starbust (And it was Orange, Ironically. I love orange) , and the other is me on the last day going "WTF, why'd I get this weird hat made out of paper?". Preschool pwned. However, before that I went to Bethany Luther Nursery school. THAT was fun. I had Mrs Stick. That's what we called her, but I can't remember her real name. Anyways, I have a lot of cool memories from Nursery school. Like..There were two tables in the place with toys, one with water and one with sand where we played all day. Then it was Valetines show and tell, where we had to bring in somthing red. Then there was me fighting over a girl with some other dude and we were literally pulling on both her arms, LOL. And finally, Easter day and Mrs Stick telling us the Easter Bunny came and me going absolutly fucking ballistic. Laugh

preschool...ah that takes me back...

when i lived in washington DC i went to this place that was combined with a church, and we'd have to go to chapel every day and learn all kinds of crap about how god loves us and everybody is the lord's children, bla bla bla...all i wanted to do was eat the m&ms they used as an analogy for people of different color and how god loved them all (even back then i was a heathen!) then we'd all play in the water and sand tables and look for caterpillers.

i had this one friend though, he was what they called a "bad influence on me" cause we'd hide during cleanup time on the playground to avoid work, and when we were going to move he had the bright idea "Hey, if we destroy all your mom's files and work papers then she can't get the new job and you can stay here!" you can probably imagine how that turned out. i doubt i ever saw that kid again.
