RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

The forums are mostly read-only and are in a maintenance/testing phase, before being permanently archived. Please use this time to get the contact details of people you'd like to keep in touch with. My contact details are here.

Please do not make a mirror copy of the forums in their current state - things will still change, and some people have requested to be able to edit or delete some of their personal info.

Rainbow Six Series

So far, I've played every game in the Rainbow Six Series, made for the PC.

From the original and Eagle Watch, to Rogue Spear, Urban Watch, Covert Ops, and Black Thorn, and then Raven Shield with Athena Sword and Iron Wrath. Then, I've recently been playing Lockdown and Vegas.

I have to say, Lockdown disappointed me. It was completely mindless. All I had to do was "Aim" (Which for some mysterious reason, boosted your accuracy 500$%), and "Fire". Within 5 minutes, you cleared out everyone in the room. It was sad.

So, I got Vegas. I had the hope that maybe, just maybe they would redeem themselves.

First of all, I miss my guns. I used to be able to choose between multiple weapons, from the Mp5SD6, to the P90, to the M16A2, to the AK47, and everything in between. I could have any set of weapon I want. Now? Nope. I'm limited to five or six of each type of weapon. And I get to carry two full sized machine guns as well. That, and I can turn and fire around a corner, and get a headshot every time. Blindfire, and I can't hit a thing, even with 100 rounds.

I miss the old Rainbow Series. You actually had to pick your target, make plans, and break into buildings tactically. You had to think and make decisions. Rainbow Six Vegas and Lockdown have completely ruined it for me. I mean sure, NOW you can pick up opponents weapons, and blindfire. That's nice and all, but it's not what I want from a Rainbow Six game. I want to be able to lay out battle plans, to make decisions, and give people different weapons.

Can I?

Oh well. Luckily, I still have my trust copy of Rogue Spear.

This has been a test of the emergency pointless argument system. Had this been a real pointless argument, someone would have been called a facist.
Ceiling Cat: For that you need to wear a fursuit, though.

Inside sources say that Carla Franklin has had more dick in her than a public urinal.

I LOVE Vegas. However, it's more action-based, not much planning beforehand. But sitll, it's my fav.

It just seems really monotonous to me.

The entire strategy is "Put on silencer, throw flashbang, kill". It doesn't require any more skill then that. Like I said before, sure blindfiring is cool, and so is jumping through windows. Those are both nice features. Yet, they don't seem to make up for the lack of skill required. I want to be challenged, I want to be thinking of ways in and out of the building.

Sure, there are tatical elements to it, like opening up a door and everything in the game.

But what about Terrorist Hunts? Where's my team? Where's my squad? What happened to my Mp5Sd5?

Why do they keep calling me puta!?!?? Seriously, they keep cursing, and then dying!

Them: "Ah yes! Let's take cover behind the brick wall! That's the plan."
Me: "Huh. You can see their body." *Bang*
