RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

Favorite RPGS

I play some shooters but what I mostly try to play Are RPGS. Post thing I guess is what is your favorite rpg or rpgs. I have played some good and dark rpgs that had dark and apocolyptic japan and stuff like that but my favorite had to be a game called tales of symphonia for gamecube. I beat that game 8 times and the only reason I stopped was because my brother broke the disc. My second one had to be elder scrolls 3 morrowind for the xbox. Its so cool killing assassin targets to running away from 20 guards who want to jack you up and that game had the most racist world ever.

Test Drive Unlimited is good yes... I'd say it's more of a driving game than an RPG though.

It's true. Not matter how many cloths you buy, you usually end up looking like a douchebag.

I'm a major Knights of the Old Republic fan. The first one I like better but the second is better gaming with a weaker storyline. I'd really recommend those. They are my favorite RPGs ever.

I don't play games much anymore but I do love literary RP and MMORPGs. I play The Matrix Online and while half the trick is making your character on the right server (syntax is all group-oriented role-play, recursion is a bunch of personal stories and role-play that has way too many soap operas, and vector-hostile has everyone perma-flagged so it's almost completely based on organization minus a few douchebags who just like to go around shooting everyone).

You really sort of have to like The Matrix to like it. Earlier the whole thing sucked because they released the storyline critical missions like every three months maybe. Now they're more on the ball though, and they have a new LESIG team. It's a game that is improving as it goes along.

But yeah, KOTOR kicks ass.

Let's do the time warp again!

Damn I forgot about knights of the old republic now I don't really care for the star wars movies but the knights of the old republic series is a kickass series. http://www.kotorfanmedia.com is a cool site for knights of the old republic fans. currently I'am playing xenosaga3 and deus ex invisible war and Just got done beating final fantasy 12 the worst one of them all. Hey in morrowind did it feel like as a brenton you got attacked or taunted more than any race in the game.

Fable kicks ass.

Love the FF series, but I hope that the creators don't over-do it.
KOTOR is awesome too/
Finally bought Kingdom Hearts, working on beating it now.

KOTOR 1(knights of the old republic 1)-the best RPG ever made and I recommend it to anyone who either likes the movies or just likes a really good RPG.

Jade Empire-another awsome RPG by bioware, the same people who made KOTOR. Its a really fun game and its in my top 5 favorites of all time.

For some reason the star wars movies bored the hell out of me but the knights of the old republic games kept me hooked to the point of me playing through 8 times.

Any Legend of Zelda game I can get my hands on, free form RPGs (Look it up on Wikipedia. I love them. Like D&D but without the stats.), and I used to lay Pokemon, but that are starting to be crappy.
