To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

ok people, for the next 2.5 weeks my family and I are heading out west to Sin City, the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Utah (aka the Mormon Hive), and assorted canyons, valleys, and general holes in the ground. Unless the horses come with USB ports and internet acess, which i doubt, i'll be out of contact for a while. so don't assume i got killed/arrested/abducted by aliens or whatever, i'm just on a much-needed vacation and i expect a full report when i get back. (being 16 in Las Vegas is gonna suck ass i'm sure, but what the hell.)
I think Buenaventura Durruti is a pretty cool guy. eh kills fascists and doesnt afraid of ruins.

you bet. i'm not much of gambler even if i was old enough, but when your hotel has pools filled with huge fake pirate ships that shoot at each other every night the possibilities are endless

well, there is a river going through it. and whenever it rains people get killed in flash floods. there actually is quite a bit of water out there, its just that all of it can kill you in some way.

yes, but he's an old and good friend of theirs and they knew he was joking. plus my parents kid me about that stuff all the time (or at least they used too before they thought i was a crazy psychopath who's about to shoot up the school). my parents and i actually agree with a lot politically, it's just that the stuff we don't are always the big, touchy issues.
but yeah, on this guy's 60th birthday my parents and all their friends ordered him this copy of an old Chinese Maoist propaganda poster with his face painted in. it was fucking hilarious.
