RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

The forums are mostly read-only and are in a maintenance/testing phase, before being permanently archived. Please use this time to get the contact details of people you'd like to keep in touch with. My contact details are here.

Please do not make a mirror copy of the forums in their current state - things will still change, and some people have requested to be able to edit or delete some of their personal info.

Re: The Dream Topic

What does it mean when in most of your dreams you're running from something?? Even since I was little I've been having dreams where something is chasing me or I'm late for something.

My hallucinogens aren't working anymore - my teddy bear told me so.
When I'm dead I don't want to be buried - I'm claustrophobic.

Re: The Dream Topic

I think it means that you have a fear of being chased by stuff.

What, someone had to state the obvious.

lol i'm not afraid of being chased, I think it probably means I'm running from a situation or something I have to face.

The worst is when you're running from someone and all of the sudden your legs and body get heavy and you start to run slow, and they catch up. Not Good

Re: The Dream Topic

i had this dream a couple of times when i was in kindergarten and first grade. my neighborhood was in the 1950's and i walked into the school cafeteria and the teachers were boiling my friends alive and hanging the other kids on the ceiling with hooks. i stand there in shock, then one teacher comes up to me and tells me to run away so i run and run. i guess something happens and i wake up.

then this other dream i have two or three times a year is very nightmarish but i can never remember what happens.

Re: The Dream Topic

I'm so fucking stressed. I can't take it anymore.

Each year,at the end of each semester, I get shit scared about getting expelled for having to many absences. It's been like that for about 4 years.
Last night I dreamt that the head teacher comes to me and tells me I'm expelled. This sucks so fucking much, I'm still scared, even now that I'm awake :(

You have, you just don't remember them.

I highly suggest Mobb Deep's albums The Infamous and Hell on Earth, if you have not listened to it yet.

Re: The Dream Topic

The only way you remember a dream is if you wake up in REM sleep. Smile

I dreamt I just sat at the train stations watching the trains go by (there were no people), but I wasn't getting on any of them.
(I wonder if dreams have meanings heh.)

Re: The Dream Topic

I haven't remembered a dream this clearly in a while...so I wanna write it down! Also it was really, really weird.

I was Harry Potter, and I was at Hermione's house. For unexplained reasons, she lived with Rita Skeeter/Umbridge(it was like...both of them at the same time!) So whenever I was over there, I had to keep hiding or apparating away(once I tried apparating to the Swiss alsp, which is the only time I remember XD). At the end, I was in the kitchen, but heard UmbridgeSkeeter approaching, so I ran for Hermione's room, hoping UmbridgeSkeeter didn't see me. But of course she did and comes looking around the room. I hide behind the bed, and then at the end of the dream UmbridgeSkeeter looks over the bed and grabs me by the shoulders, which is when I woke up.

It actually scared me pretty bad in the dream. I was terrified and was hiding my face so I couldn't see anything...until she found me and I woke up because she probably killed me!!

Also, not the first time I've been Harry in one of my dreams...but I hate Harry Potter(the character anyways, love the books!)

Kewl. Normally, my dreams involve me being some random demonic entity reaking havoc on anything and everything. But meh, that's just me. And there all twilight dreams.

Re: The Dream Topic

I had a really nice dream today.

Dreamt I was just looking for something in a winter wasteland. Then I came upon a dead tree that instantly grew and blossomed and soon became a colorful oasis. I walked into the oasis and then I saw the most beautiful scene you can imagine. Clear skies, beautiful snow capped mountains. It felt like I was truly alive.

Re: The Dream Topic

I was meditating, and I dreamt this, I was sitting in a field, and a shadow man was sitting next to me, he didn't seem evil, in fact I was quite certain shadow man was good, calm, he told me to make my life to help others.
