RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

The forums are mostly read-only and are in a maintenance/testing phase, before being permanently archived. Please use this time to get the contact details of people you'd like to keep in touch with. My contact details are here.

Please do not make a mirror copy of the forums in their current state - things will still change, and some people have requested to be able to edit or delete some of their personal info.

Re: The Dream Topic

I had a pretty weird dream last night.

It all started when I was in a movie theater with my brother and my mom. Instead of a movie playing on the screen, this weird old guy would walk around telling people about how he invented things that he obviously didn't. I finally just got up and told him that I invented the light bulb, the door, women's lacrosse, 7.1 surround sound, etc. and then my mom and my brother and I left. After exiting the theater, we were in this weird Chinatown-like area, with a bunch of stores everywhere. We all went to this one store that sold watches and clocks, and I bought a watch that acted as a time machine. To travel through time, you would reset the clock, enter a time and a date, then save it, and you would instantly be teleported to whatever date you inputted, at the time you inputted. I entered the year 1998 and some time I forgot, and I went back to this weird town that was like a combination of the town I currently live in and the town I used to live in before I moved. I was in my high school, during one of the passing periods. Everything was like it was back in 1998. Since I was only 4 years old at the time and was going to preschool, I concluded that I could do whatever I want since everyone thinks I'm only 4. So I visited my family and told them I was their son from the future, and I went to my high school and told everyone I was from the future. I tried to go back to 2009, but I couldn't - the watch could only take you to the past, not the future. So I went to that watch store again (the time still being 1998; the watch store was still there), and found that the store was bigger than it was in 2009 and also sold Pokemon cards and Gameboy games and stuff like that. I asked the cashier if she knew how to make the watch take me back to the future, but said that she didn't, but could sell me another watch that was mind-activated and could take you back millions of years into the past. I asked her who manufactured the time-travelling watch I was wearing, and it was some weird Japanese company I've never heard of that was centered in Indiana. So I tried to make my way to that company to ask them how I could be taken back to 2009, but about halfway there I woke up.
The end.

Re: The Dream Topic

Last night I had 3 dreams:
1) I met The lead singer from my favourite band in a mall, he took me to Whitby where he introduced me to his band mates.
2) I was part of a brill rock/goth/emo band(singer... never gonna happen)
3) I got my book published.

And a couple of weeks back I had a 5-day-running dream where I went to a certain bands concert and ended up touring with them anound england, ended up doing the lead singer and getting drunk, caught the next day in a comprimising position on stage in front of loads of fans and friends.

I keep having these dreams about some girl. I don't recognize her, but she's been in several dreams in the past few months. The only time I remember anything happening in the dreams was one where she kept kissing me.

I don't remember my dreams :(. However I do know that I speak in my sleep (according to my brother, who happens to be the only family member I trust). So I probably do have dreams quite regularly...

Re: The Dream Topic

Every time I have a dream I see this silhouette of a man in a long coat and a fedora also I could almost swear I see this shadow figure in the early morning when I leave for school and late at night.

I have also had dreams about a girl I don't know that I have a relationship with.

Re: The Dream Topic

I had another lucid dream last night. And before last night, I had a dream a few nights ago where I knew I was in a dream, but chose not to do anything. I'm starting to get pretty good at lucid dreaming.

Anyways, I was at school, and we were having our final exams. Except we had to take them in a Toys 'R' Us for some reason. We were in this little room, and I had chosen to leave for some reason. There was this huge bridge in the middle of the place, and I went on it, and fell off. I thought I was dead, but it turns out I was just closing my eyes. Then my friends escorted me to an ambulance outside. My friend was right next to me, and he was also outside of the store at the same time. I said, "James, how could you be in here and out there at the same time?" Then I said, "shit, I must be in a dream!" It was awesome. I could do whatever I want, and there wouldn't be any consequences.

Re: The Dream Topic

I had a dream last night where I was in a battle between Germany and France during the 18th century (Napoleon's time)
and I remember it with pretty good detail Smile

I was on the German side, with the german flag fluttering in the breeze. We marched up with cannons firing at us, the flag holder next to me suddenly exploded in blood and his gut was missing. Yet I was still marching forward. We got within firing distance, fired a few volleys, then charged into a massive bayonet fight, (each side with over a million guys) just then,

biplanes were flying through the sky, I was in a trench and my leader yelled at me to get ready for a charge, then I realized was suddenly in WWI, so I charged, my guys were getting mowed down and my leg was blown off, another time change occured

I was in Stalingrad during WWII my bombers were flying in the skies above, soviets being blown to hell and back, I was a sniper and shot a guys head off, and shot again only to notice my rifle has turned towards me? WTF?

I am suddenly in a helicopter (Vietnam), I got off and was walking through a jungle where one of my fighter jets misfired and I was engulfed in napalm.

For some reason I skipped past the Iraq War

I was now in the future, I was out in the open being shot at, I freaked out but the commander dude said don't worry just move forward, I then noticed the bullets and lazers were being absorbed into my armor which channeled into my gun (Me being shot at provided me with ammo Biggrin ) , then when I though I would own everybody, an unknown bomb landed on me (It froze everything, melted everything, and then shocked everything, then proceeded with 10 nuclear explosions). Funny thing is my armor blew up instead of me, I was alive... until I accidentally shot my gun, shooting the same bomb again

So I went through most of the time eras of war in one dream, it was awesome, I might make a game from the last part Laugh

I very often dream of stuff that's going to happen in the near future. [ Dreamed of talking about my dreams a couple of days ago ]. Uh sometimes it gets like really really freaky cos i think i can dream up whole days and depending how long the dream was it's mostly accurate but i gotta say this about the day's I've dreamt about sometimes. Every single time my dream includes a conversation or some social interaction stuff its always dead on like i sometimes knew exactly what someone's going to say and what i will respond and most of the time it starts happening, finishes, and I say "didn't we talk about this a few days ago". I don't know wheather i can control it or not but i have dreamed up a couple of things that went just right. None

Re: The Dream Topic

Hmm, it started with me in study hall.

I was trying to convince my study hall teacher to give me a pass to the band room, so that I could go learn how to play the baritone. However, she wouldn't write it, because she thought I was just ditching out. Finally, after much persuasion, she wrote it, but, part of the deal was that I had to prove that I was actually down at the band room.

So I left. But, when I got to the band room, the baritone wasn't there, and the room was fricken huge - so I didn't have time to look everywhere. So, then I continued on with my day, with a lack of evidence to prove where I really was. Now, I have this particular teacher twice during the day (in RL) so, in my dream, I had to go back to her class.

Well, when I got there, it was JAM PACKED with kids - apparently one of the english teachers had brought his class over and they were team teaching that period. I was late, so I just sort of slunked to the back of the class and took my seat. Class continued for a half an hour, before the teacher realized that I was there. Both her and the other english teacher then attacked me, demanding evidence that I was at the band room. Of course, I didn't have it - so I told them that I would go and get the baritone and bring it back to the classroom that period to prove it.

So, again, I got a pass, and once again set off for the band room. Again, the place was huge and I couldn't find my instroment. It took me the whole class period to search for it, but I still couldn't find it. The bell then rang for school to let out, and I left, hoping that they would forget about it.

Well, the school had apparently grown into a city with a roof on it during that hour of searching (complete with streets and police cars), with each building functioning as a classroom or office of some sort. It was snowing (Despite the roof), so the roads were covered in snow and ice. I was wandering aimlessly down the street (packed now with students in colorful, winter hats), feeling fairly happy, until I ran into my SH teacher in the middle of the road.

She saw me, and walked over with this pleasent, "Hah I've got you now!" kind of grin on her face, and I took a few steps backward. Thankfully, then, a large group of students passed between us and I got out of there.

I was then wandering back down the street, when I ran into my best friend. She was talking on her phone, and I was wandering around with her, until we realized we were lost and late for class. The bell rang, and we were supposed to be in 1st period. It was then that we realzied that they would be plowing the streets. So, we ducked into this phone booth for cover. Apparently, to plow the streets, they spin them really fast there, and, since we were in a phonebooth in the middle of a stretch of grass in the middle of a roundabout, the phone booth spun too.

I got really dizzy, and as soon as it stopped spinning, went jogging (in a dizzy way) across six lanes of traffic towards the sidewalk. But, since I was dizzy, I looked drunk, and I was promptly knocked over and handcuffed by a police officer.

And then I woke up.

Even a few minutes after waking up, I could feel the cuffs on my wrist...

But really, my SH teacher isn't as scary as this dream made her out to be. She's actually really nice... but something about her does drive a shiver of fear down my very core. I'd hate to cross her...

Re: The Dream Topic

I had an odd dream last night.

I was in the desert, looked kind of like the grand canyon, with lots of elevated rocks and such. The setting looked kind of like an oil refinery, with lots of electrical towers and cables going everywhere.

I was in an elevated black bunker, with some kids, most were in a bored sleep holding weapons.

Then, we were shot at. I ran to the edge of the bunker to shoot back.

After awhile of shooting, the scene became calm again. It was odd. I can't understand what my brain was trying to say.

Re: The Dream Topic

I had a dream that me, 5, and Gayaria were at this weird amusement park in France. We traveled by a high-speed helicopter that could fly underwater. When we were at the amusement park, there was this weird indoor roller coaster that was entirely white, and there was only one car and it didn't have any security mechanism. It was basically a long track that looped at the end, and it would propel you at speeds of 70 MPH. Then it would retract back, and do it again. Then it would do it a third time, except backwards, and you would be launched onto a different track that had more loops and drops. We went on it, and for some reason, every time I shouted it made my stomach hurt really bad. Then we went to a cheese factory. Then I woke up.

Also, 5 had short dark hair, and Gayaria was actually a 40-year-old man in a teenager's body.

You wanna make that dream come true? Well, not the part about me having short dark hair, since that couldn't be any further from it, but the rest of it? We could totally do that.

Bumpeth

I had a dream last night where I was at a SS party-like thing where all the members attended.

BMP and TA were in a fist-fight as soon as they met, Soulriser was preaching stuff to passer-bys, and everyone else was talking randomly, and I was just sitting in a corner daydreaming Biggrin

Mystery was looking like a dunce trying to perform magical spells, and Sarah, Hanhan, Alucard, and Newtown were nowhere to be seen.
