RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017
The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.
If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.
To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

The forums are mostly read-only and are in a maintenance/testing phase, before being permanently archived. Please use this time to get the contact details of people you'd like to keep in touch with. My contact details are here.

Pranks are hilarious, and effective. I think it's smart to not get caught as an individual, but make sure everyone knows why the prank was made, even if you choose to pull the prank anonymously.

Also, I just realized I spelled "bear" wrong in my sig. I changed it, but, how disgraceful...
I think Kirby (come back to ss btw) meant pranks that are like "lool my techer is s0000 st00pid lol her's a pranc" - a good prank maybe isn't out of the question but I'm pretty sure he meant the fucking idiots, of which SS is swarmed with.
<lordpie> Life sucks so much right now. It seems I'm spending all of it doing math.

Pranks are awesome, just consider who they will actually effect before you do them though. For example, when I was in middle school I clogged the school sink and pissed in it. The only person this ends up hurting is the poor janitor who has to clean that shit up every day. If you can think of a prank than will help the antischool cause without being a pain in the ass to innocent people, then go right ahead.
Just thought I'd add my 2 cents. Before somebody flames me about bumping this, it's a sticky so it'll always be up there anyway.
Quote:also, i think being 'immature' is a good thing because otherwise, you're just following a code of conduct that others say you should follow and you will eventually become exactly like everyone else. dull and boring.
Following a code of conduct just because everyone says so is immature. Thinking for yourself is mature.
I've heard of individuals who are practically daily prankers. They just CAN'T live without duct taping the remote to the ceiling or doing a pussy internet prank like a rickroll.
I totally agree with the OP. Doing pranks is actually a waste of time and also gives a wrong image about us, who are in fact freedom-loving people who wnat to be treated equally in the society. It's good that this is sticked.

INFORMATION WANTS TO BE FREE. JUSTICE IS IN YOUR HANDS NOW. IT'S TIME TO OPEN THE ARCHIVES. BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING - SO ARE WE. HATCHING TRUTH. WE OPEN GOVERNMENTS. ANONYMOUS SOURCES - SYNONYMOUS WITH FREE SPEECH.
"There are no educators. As a thinker, one should speak only of self-education. The education of youth by others is either an experiment, conducted on one as yet unknown and unknowable, or a leveling on principle, to make the new character, whatever it may be, conform to the habits and customs that prevail." (Friedrich Nietzsche)
But really, I don't see a problem with pranks as long as you're not hurting anyone. And I want to abolish school and start fresh! Not to "make it better".

Umm, I disagree with the negativity with pranks... I guess. what im trying to say here is every adult i know has told me to live my life as a teen, but stay in the boundaries. I assume that if u guys do pranks to get people to laugh, thats okay, but when u do shit like seriously making the teachers job really diffucult, thats bad.
I have kids i know who were famous for their pranks, but now its old and no one appreciates it.

From a purely tactical point of view that is suicide. Doing pranks is fucking immature and we do not want people to think that we are just destructive idiots who don't want to go to school.
I like a good prank or joke but we need to do other things too.
honestly you fuckhead thats why we do them or at least read them theres nothing better to do in school expecially when your bored out of your mind apparently you werent a kid when you were young, probably a class knowitall that cant appreciate the brighter side. Old thread is FUCKING ANCIENT. I remember this thread. It was Kirby's response to me posting a list of pranks. I was still to gutless to respond
Also, Fucking udontmatter... I remember him. Holyshit.
We have an scum for a neighbor, he once swore at my lil 5 yr old sis, I wanted to punch him after she cam back crying, but my dad said he world take care of it, I don't know what happened next but some time later I stuck a poo on his mat under his door( dog poo don't worry I used one of those poo bags ) when I was coming back from school I saw it was all squished and smudged. I didn't stop or look to carefully but I laughed my ass of when I crossed my front door.
They can take away my life but they can never take away my freed... auch my dreams!!!!
I'm quite certain people do pranks because... they're BORED out of their mind at school. They wouldn't be doing pranks if they actually found what they learnt interesting. Pranks aren't usually going to convey messages and not everyone, or even many people are going to see symbolism in pranks unless the message is pretty obvious like it's literally written down in a language or on tape or something to be heard or read and understood.
Most people in school are naive, ignorant and dumb as a rock. They wouldn't even be able to understand your message if you told them straight up, and you're thinking of convincing people through a mini cipher? LOL
Pranks are retarded because they're supposed to be. l mean "retarded" in the sense l think you're talking about. They're purposely that way to be funny and humorous to... make a dull situation bearable. Duhr.
Has anyone seen on the news about that "Prank" Rommeny pulled back in high school?
He and a friend held down some kid because he had faggy hair and snipped it all off with scissors. hahahahaha that was so funny wasn't it guys? Fucking scum of the Earth.

Hidden stuff:
"CONSENSUAL incest is not wrong. (Abuse victims: being abused by a relative does not make it wrong for others to have consensual incest, any more than rape by a stranger makes all sex wrong. Sex and assault/molestation are two different things.) An aversion became common in humans that aided in population growth as one disease couldn't wipe out the human race. That's not a problem anymore.
Consensual incest is very common. You know people who have been involved, whether you know it or not.
There is no rational reason for keeping laws or taboos against consensual
incest that is consistently applied to other relationships. Personal disgust or religion is only a reason why one person would not want to personally engage in what I call consanguinamory, not why someone else shouldn't do it. An adult should be free to share love, sex, residence, and marriage with ANY consenting adults. Youthful experimentation between close relatives close in age is not uncommon, and there are more people than you'd think out there who are in lifelong healthy, happy relationships with a close relative. It isn't for everyone, but we're not all going to want to have each others' love lives, now are we? If someone thinks YOUR love life is disgusting, should you be thrown in prison?
Some people try to justify their prejudice against consanguineous sex and
marriage by being part-time eugenicists and saying that such relationships inevitably lead to “mutant” or “deformed” babies. This argument can be refuted on several fronts. 1. Some consanguineous relationships involve only people of the same gender. 2. Not all mixed-gender relationships birth biological children. 3. Most births to consanguineous parents do not produce children with significant birth defects or other genetic problems; while births to other parents do sometimes have birth defects. 4. We don’t prevent other people from marrying or deny them their reproductive rights based on increased odds of passing along a genetic problem or inherited disease. It is true that in general, children born to consanguineous parents have an increased chance of these problems than those born to nonconsanguineous parents, but the odds are still minimal. Unless someone is willing to deny reproductive rights and medical privacy to others and force everyone to take genetic tests and bar carriers and the congenitally disabled and women over 35 from having children, then equal protection principles prevent this from being a justification to bar this freedom of association and freedom to marry.
Some say "Your sibling should not be your lover." That is not a reason. It begs the question. Many people have many relationships that have more than one aspect. Some women say their sister is their best friend. Why can’t their sister be a wife, too?
Some say “There is a power differential.” This applies least of all to siblings or cousins who are close in age, but even where the power differential exists, it is not a justification for denying this freedom to sex or to marry. There is a power differential in just about any relationship, sometimes an enormous power differential. To question if consent is truly possible in these cases is insulting and demeaning.
Some say “There are so many people outside of your family." There are plenty of people within one’s own race, too, but that is no reason to ban interracial marriage. So, this isn't a good reason either. Let consenting adults love each other the way they want!"-Keith Pullman

oh and also No one has any rights. We're free, rights create invisible restrictions. But we live in a society where the majority accepts rights to be true.
