RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

Could he get in trouble?

Last week in PE class we were playing basketball outside and it was raining pretty bad. Heaps of people were complaining about how they were cold and how they were slipping but our teacher wouldn't have a bar of it. It was funny seeing heaps of people just sit under the shade and refuse to play but they all had to come back in because we kept getting yelled at, so...playing sport in the cold and rain sucks, well for me sport in general sucks but it made it even worse. Could my teacher get in trouble for making us playing sport in the freezing cold and rain?

Your school officials might not give a shit but your parents will.
If you get sick playing in the rain they are going to put their foot up somebodies ass.

That sucks, what a bitch, who makes kids play in the rain? I'm not sure if anything can be done to get him in trouble.

He might possibly get in trouble if someone got phenomia right after and blamed it on him... unfortunately the only real efect it will have would be making a rule against something STUDENTS do. Like not allowing you to have break in the rain, or banning that sport from being played by students during that time of year, or possibly by giving detention to people who come to school all wet from the rain..... (all for our own "good" of corse....)

That does seem pretty likely Noo

I don't know if you can get him in trouble for that. Over here we never had PE outside if it was raining (which is why I'd always wish for it to rain) Razz

Personally I would've just left and went somewhere else if that were the case.

But yeah, if you get sick, get your parents to bitch at them.

So now the system, its not longer just mentally torturing us, Its physically torturing us aswell.

Student- Ms Collagen I cant, I get cold very easily and I have a weak immune system
Teacher- I want a doctors note, Now go or you fail

The weak student who was brainwashed to believe the teacher is his ruler now has goes and works his ass off and gets ammonia. Its so sad. No

I didn't get sick luckily but I'm sure a few people did...it was actually kinda cool because so many people were refusing to play so hardly anyone was doing it, which means I get hit in the head less and have less people run into me and yell at me for sucking at sport.

today we had PE and one of the "sport stars" of our class was taking the lesson and he was making us do all these stupid warm up "games" and I was just shouting at him (and kinda laughing at the same time) "I hate this game!" then he yelled/laughed back "you love this games!" then I was like "noooo!" it was pretty funny.
