To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

For Will, Weswammy, Youvebeenthunderstruck and anybody else with an open mind, please download and listen to all of this broadcast. It's fascinating to say the least. I downloaded it, from a link provided in a thread of my forum. I'm sure that you will at least find it very interesting. The gentlemen also speak of schooling.

How do you know I have an open mind? I always worry that I don't. Why are you only addressing those with open minds?

Will: Because, those with a closed mind, will hear it, but not listen to it. I'm not here to waste my time. I'm here to share what I have learned and learn from others. At least when I address, people that "seem" to have an open mind, there is less of a chance of me being here for nothing. Forgive me Will, but I thought that would have been obvious.

SoulRiser: 22meg is quite a bit when you have a slow internet connection. How slow are we talking about here? Even with a 33k connection, one could start the download before bed and then by the time one wakes, it would be complete.

First, it isn't a big deal to address everybody. More importantly, how can I know that I have an open mind?

It's not so much the speed as the fact that I only have 500mb to use in one month, and I pay quite a bit for each of those megabytes... :(

Oh man. You sound like you have Aussie internet. Unless you are willing to pay out of the nose, you are stuck with huge limitations like megabytes per month among other things.

An open mind is in the eye of the beholder.

I listened to about seven minutes of that, couldn't go on. The guys so boring. He's talking about his book or something, and history.

If the original poster would tell us a little bit more about what he talks about, then I'll listen to this hour long audio, but until then I'm tossing this.

All I can say about the 7/16ths I listened to of this.
*It's boring.
*The guy's probably agnostic who's telling us all this stuff.
*The history we know may or may not be misconstrued to the point of it being... really misconstrued.
