RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

The forums are mostly read-only and are in a maintenance/testing phase, before being permanently archived. Please use this time to get the contact details of people you'd like to keep in touch with. My contact details are here.

Please do not make a mirror copy of the forums in their current state - things will still change, and some people have requested to be able to edit or delete some of their personal info.

There was once a time when I enjoyed going to school. . . but those days ended many years ago. . .

Of course, a drug bust. Because it's so much easier to generalize and say ALL DRUGS ARE BAD instead of actually being educated on the matter. This is exactly why I don't trust councellors. What if you tell a councellor (school councellor) that you do drugs? Confidentiality my ass.

On the last day of school I forgot my ID to leave school campus so....
I had to go to the office with the resource officer (Thats not the bad part) and get my admin to let me out.
Me and this admin we have a history and after making me wait for 30 minutes with a bunch of dumbass girls I got to talk to the admin who talked to me about having my leave school ID. I didn't to much give a damn about her bullshit and I put on my mp3 to drown her out. It pissed her off and I told her well I would be gone If she just tells the guy I was suppose to leave.
Well she held her breath and told the guy who not only gave me a ride home which by walking would have took me Over an hour and a half but he stopped me by mcdonalds on the way his treat. Mwahaha

our english teacher (the really cool one) was out for three days, and when he came back today he told us that he'd been in the hospital because his rude, vandalizing, abusive, violently psychotic, ex-con next door neighbor had gotten in an argument with him and ended up hitting him in the side of the head multiple times with a snow shovel and punching him in the face in the middle of the street. he called the cops but the guy had a scanner and they had to chase him, and got him a few hours later but he got out on bail. the trial's going to be soon and all the cops hate this guy, so the case is no problem. but now he told us he's scared to leave his wife at home alone, and they had to have friends come over to stay with her, and they're going to move to a different part of the city in case he gets out of jail with a grudge. it's fucking crazy, he's told us stories about this guy that are absolutely unbelievable but he never expected him to actually phsyically attack. Uhoh

A few fights in the last couple of weeks that almost started but people always stop them before they do (which is NOT cool because that's basically the only form entertainment we get in school) and a lot of arguments/cussing between teachers and students.

There's also extreme snowball fights after school every day.

And some guy put a condom in this girls lock and she started crying because she couldn't open her locker since she didn't want to touch the lock. hahah

My friend got banned from the library for playing music on one of the computers.
According to the dean, he was banned because it "annoyed one of the librarians".

Noo yeah if she wants to do something about it tell her to bypass the school entirely and just go to the local police. school officials don't deal with that worth crap. and if you have cameras the local cops can requisition that just fine i'm sure. if nothing else tell her to sue the crap out of the school. grrrr.. or you can just get a bunch of ppl together and beat the living heck out of those guys. that's nice too.

As for interesting things at school.. wasn't this year but one time a bunch of us kidnapped to milk-peddling cardboard cut out of Bret Favre from the commons. it was brilliant. we had a cool teachers help, he let us stash it in his car and then we made a ransom video and broadcasted it. we got a gallon of chocolate milk and a bag of funyuns lol. the best part was the actual kidnapping though.. we had one of the students go up to the monitor person and say "hey there's something going on with the pop machine and took her to see it cuz it was n a little alcove.. and then we took off with it lol.. we were placed at strategic points around the school to pass it off to make us harder to catch. it was amazing. lazy jerkoff resource officer didn't have a chance anyway though.. all and all the highlight of my school career though

Well I led a psyche out day at my school. My friend wanted to fight this kid with no breaking it up, so we, along with some unlikely allies, cuz evry1 h8s this kid, and divised a way to distract all the teachers at the school, leaving no one to break up my friend and that one kid. Anyways, We brought walkies and everyone was set to begin the distraction in different areas and just start yelling out, "Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight!!!!" This would cause everybody to crowd around and the teachers would undoubtingly go to see what the fuss was about. The crazy thing is that it actually worked.

Sometimes I remember the Darkness of my Past, bringing back these memories I wish I never had. Sometimes I think of letting go and never looking back. And never moving forward so there'd never be a past.

something weird

the other day when the national anthem should have been playing it didn't play at all and we had to just stand there like idiots for soooo long. Then later during the day it started playing for no reason at all. My whole class was screaming with laughter.

(Didn't have time to post this earlier as the bell rang and the teacher was rushing me to leave.)

There was also a drug bust. Two kids that lived together got ratted out by their best friends and the principle and Super-Intendant searched their back packs and found at least eight bags between them. And when it was all over, it turned out evidence that they'd been selling it at school.

Sometimes I remember the Darkness of my Past, bringing back these memories I wish I never had. Sometimes I think of letting go and never looking back. And never moving forward so there'd never be a past.

One thing is that our friendly pair of squirrels, Elizabeth and Vladimir were harassed by some assholes, another thing is that the squirrels scared some oblivious students by following them. And the biology teacher grew a beard.

1. I heard a story about 2 girls fighting. My physics teacher tried to broke them but got hit in the face.
2. One of the engineering teachers broke up a fight by body slamming the fighters.

RE: Any interesting things happen at your school this year?

Last Friday, someone called my co-tutor hot. One of my classmates asked my Form Tutor where is my co-tutor and she answered "She had to get out to do something." Later, another student in my class called her hot. I asked the boy sitting next to me who said that. He said he doesn't know and asked the girls sitting behind us. They said they don't know either. It definitely wasn't me because I call teachers cute, not hot.

Three days before that, in science class, my science teacher asked silly boy a question and he was supposed to answer "residue," but said "Your G" instead. My science teacher didn't hear it properly because of the noise in the classroom, so she thought the boy answered correctly. My science teacher doesn't have a girlfriend. And neither does the boy who said "Your G" to her. He used to have three girlfriends (Not at the same time) but he dumped his first girlfriend because he started liking someone else. His second girlfriend was a teacher. The reason why he dumped her is because she was giving him lots of negative points for bad behaviour and he got annoyed with her. He then had a third girlfriend and also dumped her, but I don't know why.

This month (Not sure which day), someone pressed the fire alarm button at the end of lunchtime. The good thing about it is that I could see three of my favourite teachers.

Also, the last time I was posting on this thread, I forgot to write that in September in Spellings and Grammar class, a boy flipped the table, cut a square in his Spellings & Grammar book and threw it out of a window. A girl threw a ruler at a boy and the third boy threw the first one's bag out of the window. Richard also drew my co-tutor skiing. My co-tutor did not like the drawing because there was a sign with the "F" word on it.

I feel I just read some kind script to a high school drama for Nickelodeon from 2007.

Heh, I wonder what's going on in my school these days. Probably more drug deals, fights, and the usual nonsense. I do wonder, I must say.

Two days ago someone said something rude to my co-tutor. I didn't hear what has been said, but it was so rude that she cried. I asked her why she was crying, and she said she wasn't, but I could easily tell that she was crying. Poor teacher.

She isn't dead. She was just crying in Registration. Someone said something rude to her and she said it wasn't very nice and cried. I remember that some worse things happened in her English class (She is not an English teacher. She is a Latin teacher, but teaches Year 9 students English once a fortnight) and she didn't cry back then. Yeah, this is a little bit weird. If this boy draws her skiing, cuts a square in his Spellings and Grammar book, throws his Spellings and Grammar book out of the window and flips the table; another boy throws his bag out of the window; a girl throws a ruler at the third boy; and rest of the class keeps talking about the Head of English when they're not supposed to, she doesn't cry, but if one naughty boy says something rude to her, she cries. She wasn't in Form today. My Form Tutor told me that she will be alright and she will go to assembly with 9Green (My class) tomorrow. Hopefully, she won't cry when she comes back.

RE: Any interesting things happen at your school this year?

Last year, there was a lot of rebellion around the final 2-3 months, and on the last day, even the calm students got pissed.

Not much happens this school year, with the restrictions, being treated like a little kid, and getting in trouble just for knowing what teachers do. (I've probably exaggerated with the last one.)

Not much interesting ever happens.

Comparing students by their personality is like comparing a blanket to the sun, in terms of which one produces more light. Comparing students is just an excuse to exploit their weaknesses.

Oh and today the Head of English was in AG4 helping a Year 11 student with exams. There is mould in AG4, so both the teacher and the student WILL get sick and probably die, since I just found out mould can give people cancer.

I don't want her to die in AG4 from mould. I wish I could do something.
