RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

The forums are mostly read-only and are in a maintenance/testing phase, before being permanently archived. Please use this time to get the contact details of people you'd like to keep in touch with. Send me a message if you'd like to keep in touch with me & Steve.

Please do not make a mirror copy of the forums in their current state - things will still change, and some people have requested to be able to edit or delete some of their personal info.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

Someone drew a butt on the wall in B block today. Yesterday, Year 9 boys were chasing Year 11 boys and destroyed the Heathland fence. If you wanted to know, Heathland is a Primary School right next to my school.

I'm going to assume Heathland's going to build a bigger fence and they're going to pay for it.

The same incident happened before, but Year 9's were chasing Year 10's instead of Year 11's.

They don't just need a wall. They need a gigantic dome.

Any interesting things happen at your school this year?

Yesterday, some Year 11 students defaced A block and I snitched on them. Just because A block is old, doesn't mean that students can deface it. They got in trouble with one of the Latin teachers and the Head of English. A girl from Year 9 was with those students, but I don't know whether she was defacing A block too.

Oh, and there are new school rules. Taking food out of the canteen will result in a C3 detention because when students were allowed to take their food out, they were making a mess. Before they were allowed to take food out of the canteen, teachers would just send students back to the canteen, but now they will give automatic C3's. There is also a Form Trip coming up. (Yay, my first school trip with my current Form Tutor)

Oh, and someone wrote "Fuck (Name of my Director of Learning)" on the Library door. And when I had an exam, someone pressed the fire alarm button just because someone was burning rubbish outside.

If you wanted to know, AG4 is not mouldy anymore.

Yesterday someone wrote "Fuck (Name of the school) 2017" on the A block wall. And extra chairs and a computer were added to AG4.

Seriously, just because A block is old, doesn't mean that people can deface it.

At least AG4 was redecorated.

Today in maths, a boy from my class called the math teacher his g. First, the boy kept talking during the lesson. Then, the teacher asked him if he wants to go outside. He then answered "No, my g".

RE: Any interesting things happen at your school this year?

Yesterday, timetables changed. Yesterday before art, a girl from my art class said that she will bunk PE because I'm in her PE class, and English because she got the teacher she doesn't like. And someone drew five crosses on the wall in A block.

Today, a boy from my class called two teachers hot. One was 9Green's co-tutor and the other one was that boy's new math teacher. The boy said "My co-tutor is hot, and so is my new math teacher. They're hot, hot, hot, hot, hot, hot, hot, hot". This is the second time he called 9Green's co-tutor hot and the first time he called his new math teacher hot.

Today it was Sports Day and 9Green (my class) came fifth. Red won for the third time. And I accidentally touched my Form Tutor three times. During picture time, during tug of war (During tug of war, I stepped on ger foot as well) and after soccer.

If my Pastoral Leader finds out that I touched my Form Tutor after being told not to, I'll be in trouble.
