RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

-SoulRiser

I would probably eat healthier so I wouldn't develop diabetes, but besides that, I would only change minor things like buying Pink Floyd's The Wall instead of Motley Crue's Carnival of Sins.

depends what you mean. if you mena to go back and re-live your life from a certain point, then i would. if i only got to change one part and then got shot back to future, then i wouldn't change anything.

Time travel is one big paradox in itself.

If you went back in time to change something then succeeded then you would never have had to go back in time to change that fact and then lets say the current you who changed it disappears then what. How did time change in the first place if he no longer exists and then what happens to the world that the current you was in. Does it destroy itself or are their infact an infinite number of other dimensions where you die, have a different life or you don't exist at all.

See its too complicated. I would rather leave it as it is because sometimes I think events are suppose to happen.

NO.

I would have no idea how changing anything would affect stuff.

I highly suggest Mobb Deep's albums The Infamous and Hell on Earth, if you have not listened to it yet.

This makes me think of the Butterfly Effect.

I watched that movie by myself in the hospital for the first time ever. It was mediocre.

The next morning the doctors came in, informed me that my blackouts weren't seizures but an unidentified dissociative disorder. I should eliminate stress and keep a journal documenting what happened around blackouts.

The movie became significantly scarier.

Let's do the time warp again!

thats the thing with time travel, paradoxes. Its hard to determine what would happen, its very hard. Ive thought about paradoxes, but i think that in order to make a difference back in time, you would need to go back in time and change what you want to change.

If you simply suggest that you wouldnt need to go back in time to change something, it owuldnt work, as obviously, you need to be able to go through time i think. Think Donnie Darko.

Donnie had to go back in time to kill himself in order to stop a lot of bad things, whereas when he did go back in time through the tangent universe, he made the choice to kill himself rather than just not meet certain people. (i think i went off topic)

But yeah, im just saying that you need to go back in time to change something and i think that you need to live through that time period in order for the whole thing to work, but then you could run into past self, although would you still be there? Wait, of course you would.

Man, i cant wait till the day im alive to see time travel (i will obviously be dead, but i will be optimistic for reincarnation)

Ok, so, hypethetically, if i could go back in time and do something without crating any disturbance to the past society, i would just go to concerts, i mean, i would go see Green Day when they were younger, i would have seen the Clash and the Sex Pistols.

wow, so many thing to do.

I wouldn't. I'd like to change some minor events, but otherwise, not really.

if that day ever happens i will try my best to destroy whatever makes it possible to time travel, since time
travel is to dangerous especially if it fell into the wrong hands
