Teacher refuses to teach me.

Today in Math class, my teacher denied me to the right to a free education. Anyway she started the day with notes, which me and 50% of the class didn't do. Besides, I didn't get the special handout, so without the examples I couldn't do them anyway. Afterward she handed out the assignment and I asked for help. She said;"You haven't been paying attention, so I'm not going to help you unless you help yourself.". What a bitch; hardly anyone writes the notes and all I needed was a simple formula to punch in the calculator so I could get the answer! After that, I packed up and left. If she isn't going to teach me; I may aswell not waste my time. It's not like I'm stupid; I can manage a C+, so by their standards I'm "Average". So what should I do?

Well, maybe you should've A. Looked at someone else's "special sheet", B. took the notes, C. (By help I'll assume you mean "How do you do this problem") as for the "special sheet" or D. Quit complaining about something that is 90% your fault.
If you care so much about it then fucking do what your supposed to, I'm actually glad a teacher stood up for themselves and told you to fuck off.

You could have done all that, but if you're just asking for one forumla, I don't see why she shouldn't give it to you. She's obviously trying to get you to respect her in class even though you find it boring. If you want the good grade, you apparently have to play along with the bullshit. I'm sure your parents want you to stay in school and get good grades so you can go to a good university, but if they were awesome and didn't care, you could get out.

And I hardly ever ask my teachers to explain anything anymore because checking Wikipedia is almost always easier.

I mean, if he cared so much about it that he went up and asked to get it done and get the grade. Then he should have been paying attention.
I think he even SAID she told them to take notes. So I think she was justified.

Although, I disagree with the way she's teaching. We never take notes in my math class, he just gives us lots of examples for what we do.
I mean he explains EXTREMELY thoroughly. Which kinda annoys me because I usually get things pretty fast, but altogether its good for the class.

You were told to take notes; you didn't.
Everyone was supposed to get a special sheet, you didn't; you didn't ask for one or look at other people's.
And finally you ask for help, and she doesn't help you. Hm...Maybe there were other kids who were taking notes and paying attention, so she probably cares more about their grades than yours. While teachers are supposed to treat everyone the same- they're human, what do you want? They're going to pick kids they do and don't like more than others.
I'd help a kid who did as instructed rather than the slack-off kid any day.

School tries to be fair by setting rules that apply to everyone and enforcing them. People who work hard get good grades. Everyone else here is saying that the teacher is being fair. But why does fairness matter?

Do you find the math at all interesting? If you do, do whatever you can to have fun. If you don't, stop taking the class or just do something else in class that's more fun but that the teacher won't notice. The problem is that you care about grades for some reason, probably because your parents care about them. I have the same problem, and I haven't managed to solve it.

Yeah, i take all the notes in my class, but half the time i never really use them all, but I might use them in future references, or save them for my sister, who will be in my grade next year, just so she doesn't have to waste the effort if she misses any notes.

personally, i never learn anything in math, i just hav a friend tell me what we're lerning and then try to figure stuff out on my own, its just weird, i cant lern math in a class, i have to be allone or being taught one on one most of the time, wtvr
