To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.
I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.
I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.
I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.
I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.
Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.
Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

I quit teaching
My last post here was, I guess, about a year ago. I became defensive about people bragging about being rude to teachers and was asked to quit posting here. At least, that's how I remember it. Anyway, I feel inclined to let anyone here who cares know I quit teaching. I was saying that I thought I wasn't going to be rehired but I was. But this year the negativity in the public school environment made me just feel awful about the students being forced to be there and I felt sorry for myself being there as well. As low pay as my salary was, I'm now living on a lot less. I just want to say that public school in America, at least the parts of it that I've seen as a teacher, is absolutely terrible and depressing. I'm sorry that any of you have to waste your precious youth in those monsters of oppression. That's from the bottom of my heart and 100% true.
If you want to be a different fish, you've got to jump out of the school.

I wish we had a Classified forum so we could help you find a job. You're sorry we have to waste our youth in those places, we're sorry you, one of the few people who actually cared about youth, had to waste your life in one of them.

Could you try getting a job at some kind of decent alternative/private school maybe? Like one of those democratic schools.

I could try but I doubt I will. I'm (hopefully) done with teaching. Screw it. It sucks. I'm determined to be the best damn dishwasher I can be.
BTW, can you link me to something about a 'democratic school'? Because everything I've been exposed to, from top to bottom, is complete crap.
