RIP School Survival Forums
August 2001 - June 2017

The School Survival Forums are permanently retired. If you need help with quitting school, unsupportive parents or anything else, there is a list of resources on the Help Page.

If you want to write about your experiences in school, you can write on our blog.

To everyone who joined these forums at some point, and got discouraged by the negativity and left after a while (or even got literally scared off): I'm sorry.

I wasn't good enough at encouraging people to be kinder, and removing people who refuse to be kind. Encouraging people is hard, and removing people creates conflict, and I hate conflict... so that's why I wasn't better at it.

I was a very, very sensitive teen. The atmosphere of this forum as it is now, if it had existed in 1996, would probably have upset me far more than it would have helped.

I can handle quite a lot of negativity and even abuse now, but that isn't the point. I want to help people. I want to help the people who need it the most, and I want to help people like the 1996 version of me.

I'm still figuring out the best way to do that, but as it is now, these forums are doing more harm than good, and I can't keep running them.

Thank you to the few people who have tried to understand my point of view so far. I really, really appreciate you guys. You are beautiful people.

Everyone else: If after everything I've said so far, you still don't understand my motivations, I think it's unlikely that you will. We're just too different. Maybe someday in the future it might make sense, but until then, there's no point in arguing about it. I don't have the time or the energy for arguing anymore. I will focus my time and energy on people who support me, and those who need help.

First Day Of School.

Ok, so i started a new year of school at a completely new school. I was wearing my jeans and converse, quite an amazing difference form my old school uniform which consisted of a school blazer, black shoes, white socks pulled up to my knees and a very lame summer dress.

So i got out of my house and didnt need to hide myself while i took my journey to school.

I got htere, not knowing anyone there, and i went to the office to ask where to go. They said that at 10 there would be an assembly for all the year 11's. SO i went there and sat next to some random person.

Then i got my timetable and went to class.

Geography class, i walked in there, i was thinking to myself 'what if i am in the wrong class?', but theni checked my timetable again and it seemed right. I was wondering why the teacher kept banging out about year 12, i couldnt understand, i was waiting for someone to pipe up and say 'Miss, were year 11's, not 12!'. But nothing

IT WAS THE WRONG CLASS.

I was meant to be in a Studio Art class right, but what happened was htat i read my timetable wrong, apparently we werent in first and second period rofl. Of course i realised this AFTER that class.

So then we got to go home, i ended up going to my studio art class that i missed out on and asking the teacher about what we did and where i could find a pair of left handed scizzors (because i find it hard to believe that Australia is running low on them).

She was awesome! we talked about it, and she said 'Wow! That's very handist!' I was like 'rofl'.
So nyer, i seriously cannot find a pair of left handed scizzors anywhere. Right handed ones are completely different too! theyre very hard to cut with.

in greade 3 i stole a pair of LH scizzors and i still had them until i was stupid enough to brning them to the airport with me in my pencil case while trying to board a plane >.<

But thats behind me, now i am in the quest for a pair of LH scizzors.

Ok, so i have to say that this school is much better than my old one. You have more freedom believe it or not, the teachers there respect you more, and you build up a relationship witht he teachers rather than grow to hate them, so i found that good.

also, i found it cool that one of the guys there has a red mohawk! ftw!

ok, so that was my day.

I started year 7 yesterday. The teachers at my new school seem pretty gullible. And my science teacher likes to burn things. Like helium bubbles. Evil Mwahaha

hah, well, its kinda like 'meh', but its how you say it, when you read 'nyer' its not exactly how you pronounce it, but its a sign of a 'meh', maybe ill just use the word 'meh' instead?
