amo, amas, amat

so let's have complex conversations about the ablative with cum.

Caecilius in horto. Alida circumspectavit. Caecilius raptit Alida. Alida cucurrit.

yeah that's probably all mucked up.

The only reason to learn Latin is to use the ATM machines in the Vatican.

Re: amo, amas, amat

and to be able to have intense discussions about Roman mythology and debates titled:

"The Vocative case, what is the point?"

plus two double skives per week. adn of course learning how to say:

alii pilis ludebant.
(some were playing with balls.)

and pilis would be in the 2nd declension masculine accusative case and ludebant in the imperfect "they" case.

I took Latin for a week or two. Dropped out.
IT was a waste of my time, but this could be useful for sending a copy of the site back in time...

Re: amo, amas, amat

oh dear.. just reading the title of your post brought back awful memories from when I was forced to take latin in 7th grade.

i had a teacher who looked, sounded, and acted exactly like mrs. puff from spongebob. i still get her chanting stuck in my head sometimes, but all i remember is bam bas bat bamus batis bant and laudo.

you should really consider that advice of dropping out lol. biggest waste of time ever.

Re: amo, amas, amat

waste of time? would you rather be doing a proper subject? plus getting a A is too easy.

COMMUNISM is when you have two cows, the governement takes both and gives you the milk
SOCIALISM is when you have two cows and give one to your neighbour.
NEW DEALISM (is when things go wrong) is when you have two cows, the government takes both, shoots one and milks the other but then throws the milk away.
CAPITALISM is when you have two cows and then sell one to buy a bull.
FACISM is when you have two cows, the government takes both and sells you the milk.
NAZISM is when you have two cows, the government takes both and shoots you.

I typed: "end of the world" into google and saw the hiroshima bombing and 9/11, irony much.

Re: amo, amas, amat

I've been studying latin for 5 years now and I still don't get it...

Its a compulsory subject at our school, so there's no chance of me dropping out... so I guess I'll just have to keep doing it... lol

Our teacher is kind of crazy... he speaks latin and ancient greek fluently... Bigeek

Re: amo, amas, amat

I'm in Latin, I love it. [In response to title: amamus, amatis, amant.]

The JCL conventions are amazing as well.
And mythology is my favorite.

Actually thought of, typed, and posted by apple.
Probably edited by apple, too.

My Cheerios are always protected by umbrellas. Cute, personal umbrellas.

Re: amo, amas, amat

I took latin for a year and thought it was fun, until I started Latin 2. Not so fun.
